    1. I was a little disappointed with this because Stott is usually so concise and yet compelling. This book had moments like that, but overall it was desperately lacking (not just because it was short, but because of what he decided to spend time on and not spend time on).The best part of this book was that he showed that same-sex relationships are wrong mainly because they are not in God's created order. They are not what God intended for marriage and sexual relationships. This is compelling and we [...]

    2. The author makes very good points, but not enough to distinguish his view from the view of the Church of England. Actually, I have realized that John Stott's theology isn't thinking in a wider way, by which, I mean that he is not thinking that his books reaches a much larger community. I don't blame the author, it is what it is. I suppose that John Stott relies more on the context than in the text. The context is an auxiliary source for interpretation, but it is not, and cannot be the primary de [...]

    3. Stott's approach to the issue of marriage should be read by everyone. He goes all the way back to Genesis 1 and 2 to present the Biblical mandate for marriagento be between one man and one woman. God made Eve for Adam, a woman for a man as the helper that was the one suited for him. Whether or not one accepts the Genesis account of creation as literal or figurative does not matter. Genesis, as Stott demonstrates, present the orthodox theology of the family that underlies the whole of society. We [...]

    4. This is an excellent, short "Christian perspective" on same-sex partnerships. John Stott is clear, compassionate, and biblical. Although he is not thoroughly detailed, he sticks to the essential issues. He explains that according to the clear teaching of Scripture, homosexual inclinations do not constitute sin: it is the practice of homosexual activities that is sin. Although this is true, Stott explains that it is not true that we are to hate homosexuals. Our responsibility is to love everyone a [...]

    5. This was a good and balanced little book on a biblical perspective on homosexuality by the late John Stott. His concise analysis of relevant biblical texts and inclusion of relevant research was very skillfully done. The chapter on AIDS was necessary and brilliant. His emphasis on love and a call to the church to welcome homosexuals was balanced with good guardrails. I would encourage all Christians to get their hands on this little book.

    6. This is an answer to the question of same sex partnerships within God's created order. The book is fair, straight forward, and written in a true spirit of love and humility. There is as much about how the church has failed the gay community in here as there is biblical evidence for heterosexual marriage being the only option for lifetime partnerships within God's good creation.
