My forays into the vast world of Sanskrit drama continue with another play by Kalidasa-- I wasn't the biggest fan of "Sakuntala", which the great Goethe deemed the ars perfecta of literature; but this play, human, gentle, probing, where the playwright, weighed down by enough literary theory to make the French of the Le Grand Siecle quake, still manages to write Scene 4, with its Learean existential ferocity, is one of the best pieces of literature I have yet read.
