    1. I first read this book in high school, for Reading Team actually, and Vivienne has stayed with me all this time even though she ended her life before I was even born. The first part of the book is Vivienne's story, filled with her journal entries and the many poems and letters she left behind. For such a young girl she was an incredibly gifted writer, and I'm glad to see that her writing aged so well in my memory.     3. I confess, I read this while I was in High School, but it had a HUGE impact on me and my life. I honestly feel this is a book every parent should be required to read.
