    1. Alex loves her boyfriend Charlie, but her helpfulness, and sometimes her stupidity, gets in the way of their relationship. From putting her best friend’s needs before Charlie, and often herself (and there are a lot of needs), plus keeping secrets from him, and not listening to what is often has to say, it looks like the relationship won’t last the course. Will Charlie, who is absolutely in love with Alex, walk away for good, or does he realise that Alex is sorry for her mistakes and give thei [...]

    2. Alex enjoys her party lifestyle and having a wonderful new boyfriend. The book is full of romance, relationship issues, family dynamics and taking your life onto the next step both career wise and setting down with your personal dreamboat. Can all these things sit happily together and allow you to have the perfect life together. The book title suggests we are looking at the breakdown of a relationship and we follow the events that lead to this possibility. Christmas is supposed the be that magica [...]

    3. I really really liked this book.It was funny and at times also emotional. The fast pace of the story and the flowing words enthralled me and made me a new fan of Rosa Temple writing.Alex is a nice woman with a wild party animal side that makes her even more adorable and you cannot hate her even if you don't agree with her behaviour.I liked all the characters and I hope to read more stories about them.P.S. Charlie is a Saint *sigh* Copy kindly provided by the Publisher/Author.

    4. Single by Christmas is an amusing romp of a read packed with romance, humour and the most chaotic of chick-lit heroines. The story follows Alex and her boyfriend Charlie as Christmas is approaching. The beginning of the book has Alex waiting for Charlie to show up on Christmas Eve, but as she explains, she is not exactly expecting him to be there. Alex has made her mistakes but throughout this book we see her grow, a little, and as she thinks back on some of the mistakes she has made in the run- [...]

    5. Where can I find a man like Charlie? He is such a trooper and Alex is so lucky to have him. There were many times I wanted to strangle Alex because of her actions and self-centeredness but she had to learn things the hard way. I really disliked Alex until she had the wake-up call that her actions were having effects of others and to consider the feelings of the people in her life. Will Alex's actions make her lose Charlie at Christmas or will Alex get a second chance at a happily ever after? Gre [...]

    6. This was my first read by Rosa Temple and I was looking forward to a laid back Christmas rom com - my first of the year! Alex and Charlie, being a new (ish) loved up couple, are about to spend their first Christmas together - or are they? From the off they seemed so happy together but then throughout the story we discover Alex is just a little bit ditzy, and that's where things start going wrong. Especially when she goes away for a night and keeps something big from Charlie. Along with miscommuni [...]

    7. I first came across Rosa Temple earlier this year when I read and reviewed Natalie's Getting Married, which I described as 'a surprising little gem of a book'. I absolutely adore Rosa's writing; when reading her books it feels like you are being welcomed by life-long friends. It's not often that I get hooked on a book outside the crime/thriller genre but the drama of Alex's life certainly had my eyes glued to the page.Alex Marshall seems to have it all: a handsome boyfriend who thinks the world [...]

    8. 4.5 STARS!Rosa Temple's festive romance story- SINGLE BY CHRISTMAS starts off with Alex, the protagonist, waiting for her boyfriend in the graveyard of the church on Christmas Eve. When Charlie doesn't show up for the midnight mass, Alex's thoughts wind back to the events that lead to this situation. Amongst partying hard, helping friends and tackling issues at the office, Alex forgets to heed attention to the important person in her life and thus wrecks her peace of mind as well as the Christma [...]

    9. Single by Christmas begins on Christmas Eve, with Alex Marshall sitting outside a church waiting for her boyfriend Charlie. I loved the opening of this book. It made me winder why she was sitting alone and what would happen next. The real story begins on the first day of December, a month before, with us following Alex through all of December until we come full circle to where she is sat on the bench outside the church. I really enjoyed this book, although Alex frustrated me, and at times annoye [...]

    10. This book sounded a lot of fun. A book that you can read and enjoy to take your mind off of real life, and it was pretty much just that. It’s pretty outrageous at tie, and that is exactly what you need at times. The writing makes it easy to capture your attention for long reading sessions. This is mostly in part to our protagonist, Alex. At times I really empathised with her, and the rest was spent in shock at her outrageous attitude. I understand how dejected Charlie felt in their first week o [...]

    11. If you are ever fortunate to be in love and in a committed relationship with someone by the end of November, please don't do what Alex does in Single By Christmas and end up destroying a perfectly good relationship in under a month. I have spent the entire book with assorted mixed feelings towards Alex, at on point I really did want to throw rocks at her head, at others I hated her, some of the time I felt sorry for her, I generally thought that most of her problems were her own fault, but yet w [...]

    12. This was such a fun festive read full of frolics, laughter and love. I really enjoyed the pace of the story and how the chapters were focused on daily events leading up to Christmas. I’ve read a few books by Rosa Temple now and love her wonderful wit and charm and am left surprised that her books are not more widely known. Please do check out this author Rosa Temple! Her writing style reminds me a little of Lindsey Kelk, Melissa Hill and Jane Green. We first meet Alex waiting for her boyfriend [...]

    13. This sounded such a good read with a gripping title, I could not wait to tuck in.We open up the story with Alex Marshall, who is waiting in the graveyard for her boyfriend Charlie to join her and her family for Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. As we soon discover the events from 1st December leading up to this Christmas eve, we learn that things have gone terribly wrong and Alex doesnt even know if Charlie will turn up.As Alex takes us through the breakdown of her relationship, at times I wanted [...]

    14. I previously read Natalie's Getting Married by Rosa Temple and I thought both the story and characters were great. So I was more than happy to read Single by Christmas. So what did I thinkI really liked the fact that my opinion varied so much on Alex, one minute I would be feeling sorry for her and the next wanting to give her a shake. This all goes to prove that she was a well written character. There were times when I wanted Charlie to stand up to her a bit more and then others when I wanted h [...]

    15. A clever title that kept me guessing ’til the end.I really love this ‘easy listening’ ‘actually happening’ style of writing, where the main character speaks directly to me. Alex is a likeable girl and I find myself caught up in her dilemma from the opening pages of the story. I’m right here with her in the graveyard wondering how she’s going to avoid being single by Christmas. Mind you, I think she deserves to be because of the way she treats Charlie. Then I got to thinking that th [...]

    16. Rating: 4.5 stars.'Single by Christmas' starts with Alex waiting for her boyfriend on Christmas Eve and we start wondering why is she freezing and alone. So, we jump back a month in the past to discover that a serious of events left her waiting on a cold night.Alex is an amazing character, I never felt so close and related to a character as I did with her. She likes to drink and enjoy parties, of course sometimes she loses control and the results are not good at all. She is so immersed in her ow [...]

    17. Alex had a good life. She had her friends and a wonderful boyfriend. Alex and her boyfriend, Charlie may have different personalities and they have been together for a while. They were happy, but, their relationship is slowly slipping with Alex's priorities sets on something else.I love this book. I admit that I wasn't a big fan of Alex. She loves partying and was a bit of an airhead. She may not be a good girlfriend, but she is definitely a good friend. Alex would always try to be there with he [...]

    18. This is the second book I have been asked to read and review by this author and I am a happy to oblige.Party girl Alex Marshall has been going out with her gorgeous boyfriend Charlie for 11 months, having met on New Years Eve. I like the way that there story is told from 1st December with a countdown to their 1st anniversary. To say that Alex leads a chaotic life is an understatement as she gets herself into all sorts of situations while poor Charlie is often the one who is let down. After a sec [...]

    19. This is very cleverly written. We meet Alex on Christmas Eve, awaiting her boyfriend Charlie. Will he turn up, or won't he?We then go back to a month previously and see the workings (or lack of) in their relationship and all the things that lead up to Alex sitting in the churchyard, waiting.I felt so sorry for Charlie. Alex put everything and everyone before him and yet he remained patient and loving until the straw that broke the camel's back arrived. I felt like shaking Alex and telling her to [...]

    20. We've all done things we might regret but Alex seems bent on a path of self-destruction. All loved up with hunky boyfriend she seems too self absorbed to actually listen and then in a drunken evening does something that will shatter her world. Enjoyable read, loved the characters and the secondary characters and just wanted to give Alex a shake. Enjoyable read.
