A haunting noir with the usual themes of loneliness, wickedness, deceit, plus the class struggle (by a Brit and set in London) and a foolish, annoying protagonist (named David) who is married to a helluva femme fatale. Expertly written; it grips you instantly. What's the problem ? The plot focuses on a serial killer with two identities and the bodies keep dropping right and left.
