    1. I love to read and enjoy books immensely, but am very picky in my ratings: I rarely give 5 stars.I read this as a result of seeing the movie of the same title. The movie was very haunting, tugged at my heartstrings as scene after scene was bathed in the incredible music of Mahler throughout the screen play. After seeing it, I was curious as to how I would enjoy the book as a follow-up. The book did not disappoint in the least!!! I found the book just as emotional and satisfying as the movie. It [...]

    2. Good bio, but Francois Giroud's is better. Must read the Alma Diaries and Oskar Kokoschka's Auto biography to get the other side of the story. None the less, the life stories of all these fascinating characters are amazing!

    3. Well written, well researched. But I no longer have any liking for the subject, Alma Mahler Gropius Werfel. The book qua book should get 4 stars.
