    1. A gnarly suspense and an even gnarlier romance makes this one a nail-biter. Joanna is all grit and determination -- an over-achiever who often reacts before thinking something through. Not exactly the greatest attributes to possess when you're in law enforcement. At times I found her to be exasperatingd then Rees dishes out more of her back story and suddenly her reactions start to make sense.     2. This book I was able to identify with Joanna a little bit. However, I don't think that I would have reacted to the cancer as badly as she did. She was reckless and dangerous not only to herself but to those around her. I pray that I can become a person like Tyler with his unwavering faith.
