    1. Book 2 of the Slaughter series, picks up in Shadow's Embrace, after six months of the town being able to relax. Then all hell breaks loose. Debra Adam's mother is now head of the council and Debra is distancing herself from her mother. The search for Alan Carter to find his sister continues. He is somehow connected to both sides and it plagues him. The story is wonderfully scary. The dead skin, rotting breath, and boney hands make a new appearance and are creepy as can be. This is another excell [...]

    2. Shadow's Embrace is the second book in the Slaughter series and picks up six months after Children To The Slaughter. They should really be read in order though there are some flashbacks that explain parts of the past. Alan Carter is still plagued by nightmares from the events six months ago, and while there is a new chairperson of the Council, children are still disappearing. However, when more people find out about what is going on in the little town of Melington and an inquisitive reporter bec [...]

    3. Review: SHADOW' S EMBRACE by A. I. Nasser (Slaughter Series Book 2)A. I. Nasser is a talented writer delivering a seriously kickin' series in the Slaughter Series. The quiet historic Connecticut community of Melington is discovering the ugly consequences of cancelling the blood bindings contracted with long-deceased Copper Tibet. Meanwhile, the Council is in uproar, and Alan Carter undergoes nearly unspeakable torments to rediscover and recover his younger sister, abducted by Copper Tibet two de [...]

    4. Alan did not give Copper what was rightfully his and now the blood binding is broken. Copper is free to take whomever he chooses. Alan Carter is still determined to find his sister, Kathrine, and put an end to what Copper Tibet is doing to the town of Melington.I agree with a few other reviewers saying that there are characters who did not get enough story and while others were pointless and I didn't quite understand them. There are a few minor typos in the e-book; however, this did not deter me [...]

    5. Excellent This book was just as good as tje first in the Copper Tibet series. It was well written with great characterrs. Loved it from start to finish. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see what happens next. Will the town of Melington ever become free if it dark secrets and will the children be safe. Highly recommend the first and 2nd book.

    6. Shadows Embrace, slaughter series book 2I enjoyed the book, but not as much as the first. Some characters weren't useful to the story, while other characters weren't given the same amount of story as they could. Still a good book, I hope the next book ties up the first book in the series which was amazing.

    7. Pretty good book. Unlike others, I don't find it necessary to write sentences and paragraphs that are actually in a book. I'm not great with writing reviews, but I'm pleased with some of the outcomes, but saddened with others. Now someone needs to take that woman sheriff out.

    8. Great bookAnother great book in this series. The series is coming along very nicely. Can't wait for the third book in the series

    9. Excellent read!!Sorry can't stop now, I'm off to read book 3!Great story, with weird and wonderful characters. He's coming to get you.

    10. In Shadow's Embrace, we're back in the town of Mellington, seeing the continuation of Alan Carter's quest to find out what happened to his sister and the other missing kids. The familiar characters from the first book are back. A.I. Nasser fleshes some of them out a bit more in this book. It was interesting to see who stepped up to fill certain shoes, and who (rather surprisingly) gentled a bit. A couple new characters are introduced to spur the story forward. The author gives the readers a bit [...]

    11. (Format : Audiobook)""Some things, once heard, can never be forgotten.""Melington has grown prosperous and has encouraged new families to settle in it's seemingly friendly and safe environment. But the town holds a dark secret, once known only to the councillors and sheriff, which is about to be discovered, now that Adam Carter has emerged from his six month long coma and a hack reporter has arrived in town. Looking for a story about missing children. This is a dark and creepy tale which is best [...]

    12. The story of book 1 - Children to the Slaughter - continues in book 2, so this book is not a standalone! In book 2 we are getting answers to the questions and mystery from book 1. It starts very calm with revealing more of the secrets and the conspiracy of the founding families in Mellington. The story line continues 6 months later, but keeps going 6 months back in time. The story gets even more creepy, shocking and suspenseful! It also has a heartbreaking element to it this time, when we (and Al [...]

    13. I really enjoyed this 2nd book in the series. Jake Urry is a wonderful narrator. Kids are still dissappearing in Melington, even with a new mayor. The corruption runs deep and the evil may never be vanquished.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher

    14. This is book 2 in the series. All I can say is the story gets creepier the more one listens. Now I wait for book 3.The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. “I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an honest review”

    15. Awesome bookI absolutely loved the story line. Alan Carter has to go through a lot in this book and more secrets of the town come out
