    1. 4.5 infrared starsIt has been a really long time since I read a good vampire book. JR Ward used to be my go-to author when I wanted to read a good vampire series (because let's accept it, Black Dagger Brotherhood was really fucking badass, at least the first 11 books), but then even she has disappointed me with the last two. So I had a huge gaping hole in my reading life that needed to be filled. Desperately. (And no, I'm not gonna read fucking Twilight!)Enter Linda. The first book in a series i [...]

    2. I haven't read a good PNR book from a new author in a long time. So many of them barely scratch the surface of any kind of emotion. They are rarely very dark. It's usually some kind of Insta love-at-first sight/ mate bond/ fated whatever. But I am excited to say that not only did I find this book good, I found it very good. And it was super dark. The hero was super tortured. And I enjoyed it from start to finish. This book got me hooked from the very first page with an extremely compelling first [...]

    3. I had no idea what to expect when I won this book at an online event: as I was unfamiliar with the author but she was fun and the book sounded interesting so I moved it to the front of my mile long TBR list. Let me just say that I'm very glad that I did! The story grabs you right from the start, and when I say it's intense believe me it is INTENSE! It centers around a hybrid vampire/human named Blaze and his genetically modified "brothers" who are part of a unique group working with the secret p [...]

    4. 2.5/5First of all, peeps, I have to reinforce that this is not a bad book, but it needs more work. I can only speak for myself, and I know that I tend to be more critical of paranormal romance genre than many other readers. As it is, read other reviews before you discount this book completely. I'll just give you my bullet points of what I did not like and what showed a lot of promise.Pros:- world-building is an interesting mix of post-apocalyptic/dystopian setting, scientific breakthrough and va [...]

    5. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.Let me just say, WOW! What an action packed book that had me reeling from the start. It's a gritty, vampire packed, edge of your seat read. It's a world where vampires are known to the public as a menace. It's not a genre that I often read, but if they are all like this, then I'm all for it.This is a story about Blaze. He is a genetically modified hybrid vampire with the special ability of pyrokinesis. He is part of a group that hunts do [...]

    6. MY RATING: 4.5 OUT OF 5 STARS ***Please note, ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review***"Permission to enter, Detective."-BlazeReleasing the Demons is easily one of my favorite reads of the year! It's a great blend of paranormal romance and urban fantasy with, my favorite, vampy goodness. I will say, it does have a Black Dagger Brotherhood fell to it but at the same time, a world all its own. Here in book one, we meet SIX 'brothers' and so I expect no less than five more book [...]

    7. Releasing the Demons is such a wonderful paranormal romance, one that has left me super excited about where the series is to go from here. In fact, I’m starting book two instantly and the fact book three has yet to be released leaves the already formed fangirl disappointed. After all, I’m a big lover of binge reading entire series. Patience is not my forte, and whilst I’ll happily wait for the next book to be released, I favour diving into each new book as soon as I finish the prior. For me [...]

    8. I received this book from Soul Mate Publishing via NG in return for an honest review! This book was such a good surprise!Rating 4.5 Stars. The human crime rate in New York City had been just about nil for decades. The Vampire crime ratewell, that was a different story altogether."Detective Valerie Medeiros prides herself on her cunning, devil-may-care attitude. Her job ensures that she takes down men, womend not-so-human individuals how destroy the lives of the citizens of New York. When a body co [...]

    9. AWESOME! AWESOME! Intro to this seriesI'm not saying anything else here, except you're gonna want to read this one, people :)Happy Reading :)

    10. Great Story. . . . I have to say I was expecting one thing and got another in this story. This book would have been a 5 star read for me, but I had one issue with the author’s storytelling. Some scenes had too much detail narrative for me, so I had to skip over a lot of it. The story was action packed, intense, and had passionate love. The relationship build was great and I really fell for Blaze. A suffering warrior. I felt his anguish and regret filled existence. Great Read!

    11. It has been awhile since I've found a book by a new author that I really loved. This one was gripping, funny and full of anticipation and excitement. It was a refreshing a new take on vampires. Absolutely loved it.

    12. As I’ve repeated before, I don’t usually read paranormal books, but in this instance, I’m glad I did. L.D. Rose has created a post-apocalyptic world in which powerful vampires rule by night. The vampires are divided into opposing gang-like groups that control different parts of the country. Manhattan is controlled by a particularly evil vampire Alek Konstantinov, and Florida by Cyrus, a vampire who has designs on becoming the supreme leader of the vampires. The only force stemming the tid [...]

    13. I didn't know what to expect, but I absolutely liked what I got! This book had a perfect balance of romance and ass-kicking action! Not to mention humor, a bit of gore, and heart-felt scenes that almost brought tears to my eyes. I loved the main characters, Blaze and Valerie: A tough as nails half-vampire with a soft side, and a police detective, who proved to be a perfect example of what I like to see in a strong female character - nothing about her shouted TSTL - lol! The ravaged landscape of [...]

    14. REVIEW CopyBook one of the series Releasing the Demons by L.D. Rose. WOW, I am so glad I read this. I love it when vampires are the villains, really I mean if vampires are undead they have no soul and can't be good. If comparing book series (normally I hate to do that but with a new author, for me, and a new series sometimes it is the best way to get the feel of the book across) I would put this up there with Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series and a much better than Black Dagger Brotherhood. Th [...]

    15. This was my lucky weekend to date this year. Why, because I found another author to add to my list of excellent writers to feed my hungry for everything paranormal; vampire romance specifically. The book Releasing the Demons book one in L.D. Rose The Order of the Senary), I just proved to myself that you can’t judge a book by its cover. By looking at the cover, I wouldn’t have known the mystery that awaited me. I would certainly have passed the book up. But, since the second book in this ser [...]

    16. original review @ JC's Book Haven.Blaze nearly laughed out loud, the urge bubbling up inside him for the first time in days. Dax had a few screws loose, but hell, didn’t they all?The GoodFor starters I love the ideal of the Hybrids having different traits along with drawbacks to using them. The ideal of the world going on lockdown as Vampires are discovered also rings true in my eyes. Blaze and his personality fit really well when you learn the things he has gone through. The vampires, while s [...]

    17. Releasing the Demons is a wild, action packed ride through post vampire apocalyptic New York City. Trust me, you won't catch your breath until the end.Ms. Rose uses her medical expertise and vivid imagination to create a world and a hero who is unique in his genetic makeup, super power abilities and weaknesses. Blaze is unlike any hero/vampire I've read before. Broken, damaged, and scarred almost beyond repair and filled with a raging anger, he's found a way (with the help of his brothers) to ke [...]

    18. A gritty, action-packed romance.what more could you want in a story?Let me start by saying, this isn't my usual genre choice, although the book was recommended to me so I gave it a try. From the very start, I was drawn to the main character (Blaze) and his journey. I wanted better for him and wanted him to succeed. This is a new series about a hybrid-vampire family and their quest to restore order in a world taken over by bad vampires. The writing here kept me turning the pages, with wonderful d [...]

    19. I was drawn to the main character (Blaze) and his journey. I wanted better for him and wanted him to succeed. This is a new series about a hybrid-vampire family and their quest to restore order in a world taken over by bad vampires. The writing here kept me turning the pages, with wonderful description that put me right in the dead center of a changed world--NYC and Westchester County like I've never seen them before (and hopefully never will). A slight apocalyptic feelLet me just say, WOW! What [...]

    20. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I hope this is the beginning of a great series. I've fallen in love with the Knight hybrids. There were some interesting differences between them and other hybrids I've read about. I would rank this book with Christine Feehan's Carpathian series and she's one of my favorite authors.

    21. LD Rose has created a fan for life with this fun and unique story, Full to the hilt with love, romance, angst, and action. I've never really been a fan of the vampire style stories, but I really enjoyed this one. And I love Val, the spunky detective who's fierce, protective, and loyal. Such a good read! Check it out.

    22. Loved this. I found the world similar to the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, which is a major plus since that series is my current obsession. review to come, or read it early here!

    23. Releasing the Demons is set at a time when the world is overpowered by vampires. Basically, the only thing keeping people safe is shutting themselves in when the sun sets, and not inviting bloodsuckers in your home. A reasonable strategy, but not good enough. That is where our protagonists come in. Valerie works for the NYPD -- yes, the police force still exists and they are, as far as I can tell, on the good side. During the day, she's busting her ass off figuring out where the vamp dens are an [...]

    24. Blaze Knight knows what hell looks like. He visited this excruciating place for seven months while he was captured by Cyrus. Cyrus is an old vampire with a lust for torture. When his brother rescues him more dead than alive, Blaze has to find a way to deal with the gruesome things that were done to him. Blaze and his brothers are hybrids. They were born out of an experiment that made them half vampire. They all have special abilities and Blaze's skill is fire. When a girl has been found murdered [...]

    25. Releasing the Demons is an amazing book by L. D. Rose. This book captivated me from the very first page and gave me a couple of late night readings. It is one of those books that is very difficult to put down! The story is very imaginative and puts a different spin on vampires. Let's face it, vampires have been written about so many times and making them sparkle is not very creative, but this author found a new angel on them that was very different and made this book very fun to read. I love a g [...]

    26. I think I found my new favorite paranormal romance author!I loved this world and all the characters in it. L.D. Rose’s Releasing the Demons is a fabulous debut that brings a new breed of vampires and half-breeds. There's war, danger and intrigue, and a romance for the ages. I am completely transfixed by this wonderful book! There’s talk of vigilantes that save people from vampires, and NYPD detective, Valerie Medeiros, is intrigued. She doesn’t expect one particularly violent and bloody mur [...]

    27. 5 years ago Blaze was tortured by Cyrus, a vampire General. Now, Cyrus rears his ugly head again, and Blaze is determined to give him his full attention and end it between them, one way or the other. But first, he has to fight a murder charge and feisty cop Valerie is not about to let this one walk. When Cyrus puts Valerie in his sights, Blaze can no longer fight his feelings for the cop, nor his demons. Its quite hard to find a different take on vampires and their actions, but Rose did so here. [...]

    28. This is the first book from The Order of the Senery, my first book from L.D. Rose but definitely not the last one. If you are the type of bookworm that loves a fantastic paranormal, action, suspense, intrigue and passionate books; this is the one for you. This book will keep you on edge from begging to end. The way L.D. writes the action sequences make you feel like your in the movie theater watching an action film. So fascinating even the gruesome scenes full of blood and dead. Jajaja I'm not b [...]
