    1. This was a very beautiful little book. Eric Rolls was a poet, historian, gastronome, environmentalist and romantic and his love of life shines through this book. This book was a joy to read and I found myself revisiting some of my own memories through his words. I consider myself to be a bit of a sensualist and have always railed against philosophers and religions denial of the senses as a way to enlightenment, it seems that Rolls was a kindred spirit in this area as well, "Philosphers believed [...]

    2. Fantastic! Exquisite, and true to it's title, with the utmost honour and respect for it's subject matters Surprisingly raw in parts, this is not a story with a beginning and end yet certainly takes the reader on a sensory journey through the landscape of the author's life. A classic that should be on all young adult's learning syllabus ;) I would read it again and again if I hadn't given it to my father :)
