    1. I won this book in a giveaway and I thank you for choosing me. I really enjoyed this autobiography. The language was simple and heartfelt. The stories were moving and Nathan's BabaI felt like I knew him. He made knowing his God attainable. This book I will read again. Fear is not of God

    2. This review first appeared on my blog, Jacob's Café (jacobscafe). In a time of increasing globalization and exposure to people with different ideas, cultures, values, and faiths, putting a face and a personal story to the Other can be quite powerful and meaningful in building love, respect, and understanding. Love Casts Out Fear: A Jihad Survivor's Journey from Revenge to Redemption is a personal testimony of one man's experience of pain, tragedy, hatred, and personal transformation that has led [...]

    3. I recently finished reading Love Casts Out Fear by Brother Nathan. Wow! What an inspiring read! Brother Nathan has experienced much pain in his life, and yet he has not allowed it to make him bitter. His life is a shining example of the power of God's forgiveness. This autobiography is extremely fast-paced, and I read it within a few hours! I simply couldn't put down such an inspiring read! I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to find inspiration in this difficult time of conflic [...]

    4. Perhaps because it parallels my personal journey I found this book spiritually uplifting. Granted, the persecution Brother Nathan has experienced much more overt. It saddens me that it is global in nature even now. I applaud his courage and tenacity. But he offered some themes for all Christians in times of tribulation: show love in the face of violence; trust God no matter how hopeless the circumstances may seem, listen for that inner voice as you pray & never doubt Jesus, the Prince of Pea [...]

    5. Easy and outstanding read! The story was very interesting and moved along at a nice pace and the message was well presented.

    6. Good message, but very superficialBrother Nathan certainly has a good message to share, but he's no writer. The book is very basic and glosses over things too quickly-I guess in an effort to move the narrative forward, but it just reads as simple.

    7. I had a difficult time reading through this book because the title and description misled me regarding what I would be experiencing. I do not doubt the significant effect on the author’s life that the traumatic event had which led to his seeking for revenge, but I did not feel the weight or terror of it through the writing. Between this dark event and the turning point for the young boy who experienced it there is also little wrestling or struggle written of in a way that helps the reader rela [...]

    8. There is always something fascinating about reading another person’s story. I am a very curious person and crave to know what others think about life, about how they deal with certain situations, and about their personal experiences. Learning about other people allows us to enter into their story, to see life through their eyes, and vicariously experience new things. In Love Casts Out Fear, Brother Nathan tells the story of his life; of how he grew from having a heart of hatred for evil done t [...]

    9. "Love Casts Out Fear" by Brother Nathan is a memoir about growing up as a Christian in Egypt and forgiving the men who murdered his father and then bringing the gospel to his homeland. Brother Nathan has such a wonderful way with words. I have been very blessed by his story of how wanted revenge for his father's killers to faith in Jesus to following the Lord's call for his family in Egypt. He talks about some of the discrimination he has seen and has had happen to him at the hands of Muslim bel [...]

    10. I was awarded this book on in exchange for an honest review. First off, thank you for the opportunity to read this. I was blown away by this book and wish the world would read it. At a very young age, Brother Nathan's father is killed by terrorists, an act he witnessed. He grew up with extreme hatred and anger-focusing solely on revenge. Thankfully, his heart is enlightened by God's word and His lessons of forgiveness. This turned all his rage and bitterness into peace-spreading the word of God [...]

    11. "Love Casts Out Fear" is a memoir about Brother Nathan's life as a Christian in Egypt. Nathan's father--a pastor in rural upper Egypt--was killed by terrorists when Nathan was 6 years old. He planned gun-wielding revenge on those killers for years until he realized that Jesus wanted him to forgive them. He then went on to do Christian ministry in Cairo, Egypt during some very interesting times. This memoir covered his life up until 2013 and included descriptions of his parent's lives as well.Nat [...]

    12. This is a good book about one man's life experience following Christ in a country where Christians are persecuted on a daily basis. The author sees his father killed by terrorists at the young age of six and vows to find the killers when he is able and to end their lives. He is torn by inner conflict until he turns 11/12 yrs old and gives his life to Christ. The rest of the story, from that point, is about his experiences following Jesus, in a country where Christians are the minority and are di [...]

Though the pain of witnessing his father’s murder initially stirred up his anger, hatred, and desire for revenge, God’s work in his life shows the powerful capability of love and forgiveness. 14. I received this book free through . I was swept up in the remarkable events in Brother Nathan's life. His devotion to his mother, his love for his father, and his determination to follow God's plan make him a very likable person. In addition to all the above, I was absolutely astounded to discover how little I knew about religion in Egypt. What an eye-opening experience reading this account became. I passed it along to my daughter, who is Director of Christian Education at her church. I cannot w [...]
