    1. I once read a blog post by an author that said they didn't appreciate reviewers doling out constructive criticism in their reviews. I've since tried to stick to the facts and my own personal experience. I'll endeavor to adhere to that principle here on the off chance that the author actually reads this review. There is good stuff here. It's raw and lacks finesse, but it shows promise. All told, for a first novella it's not bad. Personally, I've outgrown this BDSM 101 genre but all the SSC tenets [...]

    2. Axel Harris.I want him to be real and be my super awesome friend. He is fantastic. He is a submissive, pain ‘slut’. He truly finds bliss when pain is inflicted on him. He is magnificent and looking for the right Dom to give him everything he wants. Sexual and Love. He finds him finally in the name of Baron, his boss. Axel is still very good friends with is last Dom(he had a contract with), Viktor. Viktor owns his own BDSM club called Apex. Baron has been a member for a year and is known as t [...]

    3. 3.5 stars. This is D.G. Smith's first novel and I am impressed by her writing style. Reads as if she has been writing for a long time already. The story was also okay. I liked Axel and Baron as characters, although all the miscommunication between them feel forced. And I agree with the other reviewers - there is no way people will speak so sexually explicit at work. At best it is offensive to your coworkers, at worst it will get you fired. Even if the body parts you talk about belong to your bos [...]

    4. The once was a girl named Cinderella errr Axel ummm not a girl but something along that lineHe wanted to marry the prince well not marry but get fucked hard, and tied up and spanked and oohh look at that his blushing. Must have something to do with the roses he got. So on his 30th birthday his Fairy Fucking Russian granted his wish, play time with his prince to be they. umm "held hands" and shared a "dance" at the "ball" Mafia connections and all that it helped him snag his prince/MasterIn the [...]

    5. Are you looking for a story set in Australia? A kinky sub and a Dom who's been burned? Office romance? It's all here for the reading pleasure. For a debut novella I give the author 10/10. And more importantly she gave it to us for free! Thank you for sharing your words with us the readers. Good luck and book blessings, may both be in your future.

    6. This is the debut story for this author. Baron Morteson owns a prestigeous advertising firm on the Gold Coast of Australia. He's lusting hard for his younger employee, Axel Harris. But Baron's been burned and has shut himself off from finding another sub to love. Axel's got a hard road ahead of him if he wants to bring the Dom to heel.I gots mad love for bratty subs. Axel did right, sometimes you just have to stand up and take control.

    7. D.G smith is going to leave sparks through the m/m community, this is her debut and I have a hunch as this author matures through her writing journey she is going to be a fierce competitor for the top spot.

    8. Tags: Light BDSM, slow burn, UST, age gap, over 40.Baron has been a Dom for 20 years. But found his confidence shaken when he was blindsided with a Dear John from his lover/Sub. Now 5 years later he is still not willing to take on a sub. But unbeknownst to him, Axel, the one employee that gets under his skin and makes his blood boil will be the one to stir more than just anger. This is the authors first ever release and I hope it's not her last. I'm so looking forward to watching this author grow [...]

    9. ***I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review***So a great friend of mine recommended that D.G. Smith submit her debut novella to me for a reviewI know right??? Me!! Wow, I am so thankful to my friend for sure. This is a very good start to a promising new career for Ms. Smith. I was very impressed with this debut novella. I found myself immediately hooked in the first chapter. This is the story of Baron Moreton, a Dom who is mourning the loss of his longtime sub. Baron is ver [...]

    10. I am not too keen on Dom/slave relationship usually, but Axel is such a clever little minks and Baron is so funny as the “uncertain Dom” that I really enjoyed the story. Well done!

    11. loved the storyline & story! for a first effort it was really very, very good :)unfortunately it dragged a bit for me at the end, and the writing was stilted at the beginning.

    12. I don't like BDSM. I can't understand the kick people get out of that lifestyle, so I find it hard to empathize with that kind of characters. But that story proved me that when it is well written, you can enjoy any plot indeed. I felt for those guys. I understood what they went through, and I pined for them to get their heads round, and become a proper couple. They were well fleshed-out, believable and interesting. I liked the fact that there was no villain, or rather, one that didn't have a huge [...]

    13. DNF’d at I have no clue because the download wasn’t available. So the thing is I own a company. My family is from Australia so I am pretty sure the laws aren’t so far off from the US ones but there is no way in hell I could have an office so co-mingled with my personal kinks. There is no referring to people as Doms or Subs in the workplace. My best friend was my EA for a long time and we did not talk about anything personal at work. I consider myself pretty liberal but I also don’t want [...]

    14. I DNF it at around 10% because the people in the office talked about Dom/sub/boy just like the most comment thing in the world. They were in the office during working hour but not in a BDSM club. Sorry, I just can't continue to read a story when the people don't take the concept seriously.

    15. I had a hard time getting past the fact that everyone who worked for Baron knew he was a Dom. They all talked about the D/S lifestyle and deepthroating the boss just a little too fluidly at work. Otherwise I enjoyed what the author did with the prompt.

    16. 3.5 - I really liked this story. Nice interpretation of the photo and the story letter. Thank you D.G. Smith for donating your story, your time and your talent.

    17. I was looking forward to reading this, but now, after about 10%, I can't take it anymore. I can't get over this boy/sub/dom talk all the time in an office environment. Where are we? Some AU?

    19. Rating overviewWriting: ★★★★★Story: ★★★★Characters: ★★★★★Overall: ★★★★★ (4.66)~~~A breathtaking debut, well done! The characters were colourful an unique, the story rich and one that kept me on my toes. I cannot wait to read more from this author.Minor criticism - I wish there had been a couple of pages dedicated to how Baron had changed his mind about Axel, just a little something. I appreciate that the author didn't have time to open that can of worms but [...]

    20. Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love Is An Open Road event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!Great picture artistically, but I trust Optimist King's Wench's review that says this was fair but a bit 'BDSM 101'

    21. A delicious erotic tease. I sometimes like to read BDSM stories where the Dom isn't quite the perfect dom and the sub isn't what you'd expect for a submissive. I enjoyed this story immensely with its amusingly manipulative and super bratty sub who is chasing after a Dom who is majorly flawed. That being said, I had to set aside my quibbles over proper office behaviour and some questionable character choices.

    22. This was a very slowburn. Right amount of suspense to it. Baron is quite the dick, but lovable. I love the demonstration of strength on Axel's part. His strength is what I see in myself. There was a little surprise in the book that had me chuckling. I smiled quite a bit through this one and help my breath at the same time. I look forward to seeing what this author does in the future. Also the dedication page was quite well done.

    23. I loved Baron but adored Axel to bits!!! This is a beautiful story and different from other D/S storiesRead it and you will see why ;)

    24. Thanks to the author for the effort and participating in this event and offering this freebie.Lovely story and an enjoyable read,Great job for your debut story DG!

    25. (view spoiler)[I don't even know why I'm feeling so disappointed after reading this story.Reading the prompt, I was expecting a Dom who handles things calmly and confidently. But what I got was a Dom who acts like jerk and a sub who acts like a brat. I should've liked this story, but I didn't even get a scene between the MCs. Instead, I got too many scene where our sub throws himself to other Doms just to make his Dom jealous.I can't stand it. *whining* (hide spoiler)]
