    1. Great story, great art, will look to complete the series. This is my first "Graphic Novel" and it was a winner. I was never into comic books as a kid, somehow I had heard of the American Flagg series, and purchased a handful of comics thru eBay, they were first published in the early 80's I think. Decided I liked the comic books, but thought it would be costly and a chore to fill the gaps in my collection to complete the series, so I bought a Graphic Novel, which seems to cover just the first th [...]

    2. So I read this a few times back when it first came out, but not for years until recently. While it's starting to show it's age a bit--could that woman on the cover have been drawn in any decade other than the '80s?--it's still one of the better SF comics ever. Obviously the dates no longer work, and the video tech seems quaint by today's standards, but the story still moves along at a brisk pace and Chaykin is still a hell of a storyteller. Yes, it's a bit dated and, yes, there are some problems [...]

    3. Well, this is a classic series that has a LOT of strengths, but isn't really all that interesting to read. It's heavily satirical, violent when necessary (and sexual when not), it's got complicated plots that treat the reader like s/he has a brain and can pay attention, and has a really, really detailed world. The art is great and unusual, with a heavily stippled look and very interesting panel work and layouts. Like I said, I can say a lot of great stuff about it. And for the time it was writte [...]

    4. Wow. Impressive art and some of the most frenetic storytelling I've ever read. I feel like I should be offended, but it's too over-the-top for me to take it seriously. I also have a major soft spot for talking cats (who DON'T get killed, BKV!) so Raul is the best.
