    1. A rollicking Byzantine historical thriller with gore, death-defying thrills, plenty of intrigue and depravity in spades. Told in Blake's own inimical style the novel entails much history but this only serves to add rather than detract from the plot. The novel opens on a very poignant note for the hero Rodi. One quickly realises that Christian charity is obviously a stranger in Byzantine Rome. Cruelly betrayed Rodi finds himself in a difficult predicament forced to make a choice between the devil [...]

    2. Game of Empires was just too short, more of a short story at 103 pages, which is such a shame, characters and plot were developed well. I was just getting into the book when it ended!Despite the formerly comments I really enjoyed reading what bit there was
