    1. The Lost Princess of Meigen hooked me on the very first page! After reading the first book in this series, I couldn’t wait to dive into the second. It did not disappoint. I loved getting reacquainted with characters from the first book and when Sherwin re-appeared, I couldn’t stop smiling. Princess Alena is a wonderful character as well. She is a widow looking for a safe haven to raise her son, but finds herself having to choose between safety and true love. Her transformation during the sto [...]

    2. Rachel James tactifully uses language common to the 7th century Celts and Saxons in a very easy to read manner. This sequel stand alone and kept me reading to the end. I became enamored by this gutsy princess from the first page. Embedded in the fast paced action is a sweet and pure romance, a great combo for a plot!

    3. The second in a series of medieval tales, Rachel James’s stories have continued to unfold with enough detail and richness to take the reader back fifteen hundred years. Knights, kings, betrayal, spies, a baby religion and courtly romance adds up to a fine tale that will enchant those who enjoy some shiny armor with their everyday castle living. With the loss of her husband, commoner Alena, married into the royal family and mother of the prince, is ill-treated by her father-in-law. When danger i [...]

    4. Princess Alena, the widow of the prince who was once heir to the thrown of Meigen, must leave her young son and to journey to an arranged marriage in another land. Two of the knights of Angularem have come to escort her to King Niall, her betrothed. Her cruel father-in-law, Conall, who sent her into the marital contract, holds her young son captive. To distance her mind from her own tragedy, Alena finds herself enchanted by the use of herbs and potions of Sherwin one of her escorts and even more [...]

    5. 'The Last Princess' was a sweet, tale geared towards a young adult audience. It could also appeal to adults looking for a quick, undemanding read. This book g many of the characters from the author's first book 'The Forgotten Princess of Elmetia' they complement each other well- with the lead character, Princess Alena, finding love with one of the lead characters from the last book. There was certainly enough action and intrigue to keep the reader interested, even if the characters could be a li [...]

    6. Princess Alana is cruelly separated from her young son by her father-in-law and to divert her pain she becomes fascinated by the herbs ointments used in the Infirmary where she encounters Sherwin. Sherwin struggles over his feelings for Alana, after all she is betrothed to the King and he’s a mere Knight. Not only that but he’d also failed to prevent the death of King Niall’s previous wife. How could he look the king in the face or attend to Alana’s health when they had embraced? Alana b [...]

    7. I won this book in a giveaway, and I must say that this book has many strengths but some weaknesses as well. The author does a wonderful job at creating characters and her overall plot is fantastic. I found myself being drawn into the story line and eager to know what would happen next. However, the writing lacked detail. I felt it rushed through many events and it was a little choppy. The character relationships lacked as well and I found myself feeling no emotional connection with them. One mo [...]
