1 thought on “A Gorgeous Mess”

    1. I do not think I read the same book that received all of these 4-5 Star reviews. The premise is interesting, the writing is juvenile and the dialogue is down right ridiculous at times. I love gritty MC books but this one was just completely lacking for me. The one positive thing I can say is that it was better than the first book.

    2. ***ARC RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW***This was an absolutely amazing story that kept me gripping on to my handlebars from the start of the road to the end. It was a bumpy road with a lot of twists and turns, and action aplenty, i totally loved it !!!WOW I thought Turk and Lock's story was hot and full of action, well this one was definitely on par with their story. Ormond was first encountered in book 1 (Dangerous Reality) when he helps Turk out with "payment" for a speeding violation. Turk decide [...]

    3. I. Just. Couldn't. Life is too short for books that suck, and this one worked my second to last nerve. Yes, after the first book in this series I should have known but I hoped perhaps the next book would be better. It wasn't. Between such pithy descriptions of the main characters like "the Spaniard" and "the half-breed", with the adjective "sexy" added for emphasis, to the supposedly bad ass biker club that makes the Keystone Cops look more like Law and Order SVU offering sage advice about drug [...]

    4. As discovered in the first book of The Bent Zealots series, just being gay in a somewhat homophobic world is tough enoughBUT when you are a biker in a club filled with criminal activities, drug dealing and alpha-male womanizers, wanting to play for the other team can be downright deadly and unacceptable. So the new club was formed of mostly gay members but with some sympathetic allies and women who like to hang around and watch men together (knowing they will never be old ladies). In A Gorgeous M [...]

    5. 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.I loved this story every bit as much as the first book, . A Dangerous Reality This one is a little different though, or I should say the guys are a bit different. We met Ormond in the previous book. He has a badge or uniform kink, in that blowing men in uniform really does it for him. Needless to say, he doesn’t ever get any traffic tickets. He owns up to his slutty ways though, fully admits he is a total cumslut, but he is thinking it is time to start chang [...]

    6. The second book of the Bent Zealots MC series does not disappoint. It picks up neatly from book 1 (but can be read as a standalone novel) by re-introducing Ormond, badge slut extraordinaire, from book 1 and introducing Anson, a half breed mercenary, who is asked to take on the job of finding out who is intruding on to the Bent Zealots' turf and exploiting the disaffected youth on the rez.Neither man is on the market for a relationship but the sparks fly from their first encounter. They both try to [...]

    7. DNF @ 37% This had such high ratings I decided to give it a go although I found the first book to be mediocre at best. Wow, that was a mistake! The writing to me here is even more ridiculous and hard to follow than the first book. I couldn't even LOL at parts like in the first book because I had NO IDEA what the author was saying! Who says Twatwaffles? or Shillyshallying? WTF are Bowling Ball Eyes?NO MAS!!

    8. Advance ARC.I loved Anson and Ormond. Anson, finally free to live open and honest, close his past and welcome a new family Ormond, finally seeing he's worth so much more, that he deserves to be loved. Didn't like the truck scene (you know) Thought this was great and I can't wait to see where you take us next!!!!Amazing

    9. This was an ARC given to me by the author in exchange for a timely and honest review. Before I started reading this one, I read the first in the Bent Zealots series and I'm glad I did because I knew more of the people and had background information I wouldn't have had otherwise. The two main characters are:Ormond, an openly gay biker who is known for doing 'favors' for men in uniforms and Anson who is a straight (as far as the world can see) ex-military, current private mercenery. Both men are li [...]

    10. I received this ARC.I fell in love with this series with the first volume, I had liked the way Layla had kept the appropriate personality of the bikers, it is the raw, cutting writing which doesn’t make in the elegance, but I love it. It’s violent and graphic, and I don’t speak only about the sex, there are no differences between a classic bikers club and that describes by the author. This second volume is in the same lineage, the couple formed by Anson and Ormond is terribly sexy, and nev [...]

    11. I was sitting on the fence when I read the first book in the series. That’s always a disappointment when you can’t decide if you liked it or not. However, I decided to give A Gorgeous Mess a try just to see if it was me or the book. And… I find this second book much better than the first.I think it was Ormond that got me. Badge slut and a special effect make artist? So yeah, he’s a sub and has a thing for men in authority, plus being a biker. But the artist thing I just found completely [...]

    12. ~~ I was given an ARC for an honest review ~~A Gorgeous Mess by Layla Wolfe was another sexy book in the series. Holy Cow this book was sexy and action packed loved every minute of it. A Gorgeous Mess (The Bent Zealots MC, #2) continues after A Dangerous Reality. In which Ormond a member of the Bent Zealots MC helps out when Turk also a member of the Zealots store is robbed. Turk calls his Prez after the robbery and having problems with the local Indians from the Reservation. Turk's Prez sends A [...]

    13. 4.5 stars! While reading this story my thoughts were that it is incredible that the theme of being part of the MC's world it’s a common denominator with the first book but the author wrote to completely different stories in terms of the events of the same. Anson and Ormond couldn't be more different but at the same more alike. Anson has been asked to help Turk and Ormond is his partner in trying to discover the reason and who is behind the robbery at Turk's dispensary. Also Anson wants to find [...]

    14. After reading A Dangerous Reality, I became a huge fan of Layla Wolfe's. Her writing is quirky, with a touch of humor, and the way she describes the scenery of Arizonapure magic. Plus, I so love the names she gives these bikers! I was super excited to dive in to A Gorgeous Mess with the hunks of the Bent Zealots MC. I was happy to have some followup with Turk and Lock. I love those two! The cast of characters in this book are totally on point with the story. Each have their own unique style that [...]

    15. This was a fantastic read worth more then 5 stars. Talk about Dom/Sub, wow with their dirty talking you can image what they are going though in their emotions. Anson happens to be Riker (Bare Bones old brother) one of many kids whats to know what happened to his old man but in the beginning he is at the Bare Bones Club House and Ford wont tell him againt unless he helps out Turk with finding who stolen Turks weed, a test of trust for Anson in exchange for info on Riker. Thats were he meets up wi [...]

    16. * I was given an ARC for an honest reviewI read this book as a stand alone (this being my first Layla Wolfe story I've read).I enjoyed the alternating POV's between Anson and Ormond but found some of the dialogue to be too flowery and eloquent for a bunch of gay bikers (a little more realism would be good). My overall impression was that this was a good storyt a great story.

    17. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Loved how this continues over from A Dangerous Reality. It was great how it told how one question their own sexuality and find the answers they need. Really liked how the old characters and new characters seamlessly combine.

    18. So I didn't know how I would like a book about gay men since I had never read one before, but this book was good. It actually surprised me how good it was. And adding bikes into made it all that much better. Excellent writing skill. Loved the book. Now off to read the first one of the series lol.

    19. all I can say is HOT! The actual passion these guys shared was epic, they just knew what buttons to push and what not to push. they ripped my heart out in the beginning and by the end they mended it back together.

    20. ARC- I relly liked badge slut Ormond and I'm glad he found his soul mate . I loved the relationship of Ormond and Anson. I really glad Anson found love , and peace he deserves it . Great job Layla .

    21. Mercinary to mushyAnson is home from Afghanistan looking for his father. He is sent to help Turk with the Bent Zealots and finds more than he bargained for.

    22. Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soulSON: I was just a mercenary back from fighting the good fight overseas. I was on a quest for my father, my roots, looking for answers. Turk Blackburn, Bent Zealots MC Prez, ordered me on a fresh operation to prove myself, my guts, my valor. Infiltrate the Navajo Rez and find out who is claiming the Zealots’ turf, using kids to cook drugs. My partner is the famous badge slut, Ormond Tangier, known far and wide for his mad oral skills, his subser [...]

    23. Have you ever met something that was so wrong it was so utterly right? The first moment of a frozen hot chocolate, or a spiced hot chocolate that has a little bite from the inclusion of cinnamon and peppers? That sort of moment when everything you are says that something shouldn’t work so well – but it does anyway, and you want more. That is exactly the tone that Layla Wolfe has struck in her Bent Zealots MC series, and the latest book in the series, A Gorgeous Mess, is ringing all the bells [...]

    24. 4 CrownsBook 2 in The Bent Zealots MC series. This series is a spin-off from the authors Bare Bones MC series. However you do not need to have read those books or indeed book 1 in this series as it can be read as a standalone.Ormond Tangier - Special effects make-up artists to the stars, Member of the newly formed Bent Zealots MC and self-confessed badge slut. Ormond's naturally submissive personality means he thrives on the attention he gets from an alpha male in a powerful position. So when he [...]

    25. more of a 3.5 or 3.75, if only for the awesome setting desciptions. If you think about reading this book, then seriously, read the publisher’s warnings first, and heed them if you think any of them might come too close to your comfort zone. The warnings are all true. Plus, those heroes aren’t nice people. They deal in drugs - on a grand scale – and use drugs, they kill and maim without scruple in territorial fights or in revenge and think of women as objects of utility. But they also rescu [...]

    26. This is book 2 in the Bent Zealots series and as a sequel it does not disappoint. I have found that in most continuations of an original story that some of what attracted you to the original is lost and I am happy to say that is not the case with A Gorgeous Mess. The focus of the storyline may have been centered on the relationship of our favorite badge bunny Ormand and in the closet bad ass mercenary Anson but it still dealt with the development their club. Being a gay biker is not an easy task [...]

    27. I loved book 1 of this series and was expecting this one to be as intense and breathtaking as book 1 but it wasn't at first. It took me a bit to really get into the story. The beginning just didn't grab my attention. It seemed to drag on and was overly detailed. After the first few chapters is when the story picked up for me. Once it got going, I really liked it. This book had action, suspense, D/s, hot m/m sex, but no real romance per se. Yes the two characters realized they were meant for each [...]

    28. A Gorgeous Mess is the second book in the Bent Zealot MC series. In this book, we are treated with Ormond and Anson. We briefly met Ormond in the first book, A Dangerous Reality. Let's just say that A Gorgeous Mess hits the mark with the dirty and gritty M/M erotica. I mean, who doesn't want to read about some hot man on man biker action? I knew Ormond would be quite the character from his brief scene in his first book and I was not disappointed. He is scorching in this book. Anson is the newbie [...]

    29. I am one of those lucky people that received this ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading A Gorgeous Mess by Layla Wolfe. After all I get to read about 2 gorgeous men that fall in love with each other. Now this book is not for everyone. You seriously need to read the WARNING: "PUBLISHER'S WARNING: This book is not for the faint of heart. It contains scenes of gay sex, illegal doings, violence, and forced seduction roleplay. There is no cliffhanger and there is a HEA." If you do not li [...]
