    1. Another relatively solid read from this author, which makes me happy. A new romance author to track :)The plot tends to trend towards the melodramtic, which I'm not a huge fan of, but it's bearable since I liked Dillie so much. That being said, there are two things I wish hadn't happened, that I honestly think detracted from the character development. There be fairly explicit spoilers ahead :P1. After mostly settling the topic of marriage, Dillie leaves the inn room for serveral minutes only to [...]

    2. NOTHING BUT RUBBISH!!I didn't know this author could write another book of pure Rubbish! "My Fair" Lily was bad enough, but The Duke I'm Going to Marry is worst. This is the story of Dillie, Lily's twin sister from bk 1 and Ian Markham the Duke of Edgeware. Ian and Dillie have long repetitive conversations in the story. Which are just random. They loved each other but they can't be together becasue they don't trust there love for each other. There many made up misunderstanding in the story that [...]

    3. If you want a genuine Regency read, then this book, series and maybe the author isn't for you. However, that said, I really enjoyed the story itself. Some of the 'Problems' I see with this NOT being a good example of a Regency novel:. They have Prinny (the Prince Regent) issuing warrants for people's arrest, etc. That just doesn't happen. . The dialogue and phrases used are very modern rather than Regency period The classes mix too freely, too easily and speak to each other with much too much fam [...]

    4. This is the story of Daffodil Farthingale and Ian Markham, the Duke of Edgeware. Daffodil is a wonderfully entertaining and strong heroine, and Ian is a strong and very complex man. They have known each other for a very long time, secretly drawn to each other. Ian has secrets that no one knows about that haunts him. Daffodil is looking for love. They both come from very different childhood experiences. Can either of them find love? There is something about the way this author tells a story that a [...]

    5. Love me a DukeMeara Platt has mastered this series! These Farthingale sisters have been a great joy to read!! Meara writes each character with such expression you feel like you really know each person! They are delightful, funny and you feel each emotion as if it's first-hand.This is the youngest Farthingale sister Dilly's story. She doesn't feel she is anything special since nothing happened her first season! While closing up the house with her Uncle George at the end of the season; Dilly witne [...]

    6. Exceptional read!Intrigue and evil follow the duke. But who is trying to get rid of him? Dillie is the girl he kissed two years ago by the lavender bush. She is a Farthingale, one of the endless Farthingale's. It is a light hearted and fun story. But it has a mystery. The author has done a marvelous job, it is easy to read, flows well and answers any questions you have. The tale has heart and love and Ian is allowed to play, but then he deserves to.

    7. DukeWhat a delightful book! This is such a wonderful series with the Farthingale family. A loving boisterous family who is in everyone business. Dillie healed Ian's neglected heart. She is strong, loving and full of kindness. They try to deny their affection for one another, but love prevails.

    8. FANTASTIC REGENCY ROMANCEDillie and Ian are so wonderful in this love story. Ian quickly finds Dillie is a lot tougher that she seems and is a little headstrong. Dillie finds Ian suffers from a lack of love that she is quite capable of providing if given a chance. Thank you for a very engaging story, Danny and Debbie Scott.

    9. Dillie is determined to have a conventional courtship. She wants a husband who is fateful and love only her. Ian is determined to remain a rake. The attraction is so strong between them. Will Love find a way? This one will keep you interested! It did to the end with me.

    10. Really cute and lighthearted book, I really enjoyed this second in the series. I like the premise and the characters.

    11. SweetA lovely story of a duke who was unlovable and the girl who loved him. Told with humor and talent! A new author to me, but one I very much enjoyed reading! Good read!

    12. A SOLID 4.5 STARS!THIS STORY HAD TWO CHARACTERS WHOM YOU KNOW ARE FALLING IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER JUST LIKE THAT BUT IT'S TAKING TIME AWHILE TO COME AROUND, BUT OH THEY ARE THOSE KIND OF COUPLES THAT YOU TRULY ADORE BECAUSE THEY ARE SWEET ON EACH OTHER. THIS IS MY FIRST PLATT HR AND IT WON'T BE MY LAST.OUR HERO is a man with quite the mommy issue and he has sworn like most heroes we have read about that he will never marry because it isn't for him. He also has survivor's guilt, in a sense and be [...]

    13. Beautiful with a Balance Between Drama and Lightness"When Dillie Farthingale crossed to her bedroom window to draw the draperies before retiring to bed, she never expected to wind up in front of the Farthingale townhouse, elephant gun in hand, worried that she'd just shot the Duke of Edgeware."FINAL DECISION: This is one of those books that I finished, sighed and then immediately wanted to return to my favorite passages. I loved both the hero and the heroine who are likeable in a story with humo [...]

    14. 3 stars - Spoilers!!I didn't care for this book. The writing was OK - but the author used a word that I had never read and when I looked up the definition - I had a Princess Bride moment - "This word, I do not think it means what you think it means". She used the word Clunch over and over - based on the usage I assume she meant it as an insult akin to jerk or idiot. However - the word had no definition available on my kindle dictionary. Webster and Wiki searches determined that clunch is a limes [...]

    15. Historical English romance and the last of the Farthingale sisters to find their husband from the Chipping Way bachelor curse. I liked My Fair Lily when I read it last year. Perhaps overly dramatic, but this story has a little less death threats and kidnapping then in Lily's story. Lily is Daffodil Farthingale's twin sister. The stories are all stand alone, but they do follow each other quite nicely. Dillie is the quiet good twin sister, but she will whip out her uncle's shotgun when needed to s [...]

    16. First part of the book that turned me off was slightly before chapter 3. He's about to leave her house after recovery and they bicker over their first kiss(which happened in a garden when he assumed she was someone elseah so romantic) and she dares him into a second kiss to prove there wasn't any meaning to it. He says there is. He's left hard and wanting and as he's leaving, he makes plan to see Miss Giraud who is paid to ease his pain. Why prove to her that the kiss means more than it is then? [...]

    17. The Duke I'm Going to Marry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Written by Meara Platt(Farthingdale #2)When Daffodil (Dillie) Farthingdale accidentally received her first kiss by Ian Markham, the Duke of Edgeware, she knew he was the one for her.Dillie never being one to shy away from trouble found herself saving the life of none other than the duke. She completely took over his recovery allowing him to reside in her bed. Her uncle George, a doctor, took care of his medical needs but she nursed him b [...]

    18. I previously read the first book in the series, "My Fair Lily". This book is about Lily's twin sister, Dillie Farthingale, and takes place shortly after the previous book. I didn't find Dillie all that interesting in the first book, but I really grew to love her in her own story. After rescuing the Ian, the Duke of Edgeware, from ruffians out to kill him and nursing him back to health in her home (in her own bed, no less), she finds herself falling in love with the Duke. Little does she know tha [...]

    19. Oh dear. I have left this review for a week or so as I ploughed happily through my holiday reading pile (if one can have a pile on a Kindle) and when I come back to the writing of it I realise that the book has not stayed with me. I know that Daffy/Dillie saved her man from a pavement attack, some sort of scandal was/wasn't avoided and then - when everything looked on the brink of being sorted - there was a further outbreak of plot nonsense involving attempts on the hero's life and the romantic [...]

    20. The Duke I'm Going to Marry is a five star read for sure! After reading book one in the Farthingale Series I was curious how book two would compare. I adored My Fair Lily and The Duke I’m Going to Marry was the perfect follow-up. Meara Platt has a gift for weaving tales and bringing stories to life. I was already fond of Dillie from book one but grew to love her in book two. I found myself instantly invested in her and Duke of Edgeware’s story. It was witty, entertaining, and heartwarming. I [...]

    21. This story sucked me right in and I laughed out loud so often - the heroine is the cutest and at the same time so strong and brave and the hero, oh my! Such a tortured soul and still he acts with honor and pride, how could I not fall for him? Their story is a whirlwind of romance and tragedy and suspense and laughter, especially when they both are hot for each other but can't or won't act on it. Very sweet! I'll absolutely read more from the Farthingales!

    22. I really enjoyed reading about Ian and Dillie. I can't imagine what Ian had to go through with his family. I know there are people in this world like them but I just can't understand them. Dillie's family is more extreme then mine but we all love each other and would fight to protect each other. It broke my heart when Ian told his story to Dillie. Can't wait for the rest of the families stories to come out.

    23. Sweet and romantic story! Captivating since page one! This story had the right mix of everything, romance, intrigue, suspense, and passion. The story was fast paced, funny and entertaining. I loved the banter and bickering between the main characters. I will be looking forward to the other books of the Farthingale Series.

    24. Ian & Dilly's storyAbsolutely loved this book! Dilly & Ian worked thru all her family's worries, intrusive assistance, villains villainy and still found time\way to make their reader laugh out loud. Thank you Meara Platt, so very much!!!! If you like a light hearted read, with a happy ending, you will like this book.

    25. CharmingI found this story charming and bittersweet. The characters were funny and endearing. It was a little painful to know how the small child of a selfish and uncaring mother suffered. It was handled tenderly by the author so the story was never in any way sad. It is a story of how love can redeem a lost soul.

    26. once again Meara Platt delivered a wonderful book. Dillie and Ian are such a wonderful characters . Iloved the humor among est the two and watching them accept their feeling for each other. I wish all the sisters had a story . Meara books are always sweet and funny.

    27. No women were destined to remained spinsters a day and ever, and no men were determined to be bachelors all their lives. Especially when they cross paths with their soul mates for their hearts will be the first to tell.

    28. Go Daffy !!I gave the duke I'm going to marry 5 stars because it has everything I like in a romance. It has mystery, murder, humor, and sex!
