    1. Nabokov claims, “there are three points of view from which a writer can be considered: he may be considered as a storyteller, as a teacher, and as an enchanter.” He says a major writer combines all three, but it’s his ability to enchant that makes him a major writer. This particular quote, which I’ve often contemplated, came to mind as I read Falconer’s “The Vagabond’s Son.” Here’s why: from the opening, I was enchanted. Falconer is not only a stellar writer, but is also skille [...]

    2. Simply put, this book was wonderful. The great depths put into the characters and their individual stories can really suck you in and make you get lost in the story as the adventure unfolds. It was almost impossible to put down. Almost. Unfortunately, one does need sleep.

    3. It is no secret that I'm a huge fan of both Falconer, as well as her work. But, let's not be personallet's get straight to business! She walks a fine line between fantasy and horror. She has a way of writing that pulls you into this fairy tale world and leaves you shocked and awestruck with every violence. If you've never read any of Falconer's work, you'll definitely want to start with the Hope series to see what I'm talking about. If you just went her edgier horror stories, you'll want to go s [...]

    4. As always, Ms. Falconer delivers a wonderful story in a medieval setting of fantasy filled with pointy-eared Piskitian elves, kings, queens, a caste system of servants and, of course, what would a fantasy novel be without such marvelous creatures as ogres or dragons. Oh, I cannot forget the mysterious goddess known only as "She".Ms. Falconer's words are so descriptive that sometimes I must stop reading and look up the definitions because I'm at a total loss for the words. It's as if Ms. Falconer [...]

    5. I immediately found myself drawn into the fantasy world in which Adalanto lives. There are some magical folk, but it is more a story about the characters and their development. The story begins with Adalanto as an infant and in a situation which follows and haunts him during his growth throughout the story. Although the book is subtitled, Prelude to a Legacy, the story advances as Adalanto ages to manhood and comes to a satisfying conclusion, leaving me eager to read the next installment.Having [...]

    6. I enjoyed this book about Adalanto and his life. I loved the magic creatures in this book and how the story unfolds for me. This was a great book for all ages. You should see what you think of this book. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
