    1. I got a couple of the stories from this series for free (via Smashwords) which started me on the series. Those that know me, also know that I have a bit of an obsession with finishing a series once I have started, so I read these pretty much back-to-back. I'm not going to write about each story individually, rather just leave some overall notes.- the series is made up of a number of trilogies so there are 3 books to be read to bring each characters story to conclusion (you can buy them as separa [...]

    2. I found this book more disturbing that the previous ones. Angel's story was heartbreaking. I loved the Gabe/Cole and Max/Horatio side stories going on. Great read and OMG they DO USE lube and condoms sometimes.

    3. These books are horrible. Not in a badly written, badly edited way. They are horrible in how well they are written. C.J. Bishop writes characters and story lines so well you can't NOT look away even as you know what you are reading is going to tear out your heart, hurt your stomach and make you cry, give you nightmares and make you think you can't read anymore of it. These are not romances. They should come with warning labels. C.J. writes about the very worst people can be to each other, while [...]

    4. whew!Three volumes down (Abel, Caleb, Angel), two volumes to go (Gabriel, Maxwell). While that may sound like its a chore, it really isn't. So far, they have all been heart wrenching but SO worth it! CJ Bishop isn't afraid to put it all out there, that's for sure. These books are definitely NOT for the faint of heart.

    5. When Angels Cry:It's been too long since I was here with my guys from the 'Phoenix Club' series. In case you aren't familiar with it, each main character gets his own trilogy, but all of the characters and their stories weave in and out. It sounds confusing, but it's actually not. I will give my warning, again, that this author tends to write sex scenes which require little to no lube, often no condoms, and very little prep. Both parties, meaning the main characters, are having a good time, alth [...]

    6. Angel, Angel, Angel. The most fitting name imaginable for this boy! This story started it all for me. I started to read the first book in his series and stopped to go to the beginning and read from Abel's story to here in order. While Abel and Caleb were not necessary to read before Angel, it did provide a good preview of the Phoenix Family. Angel's story is heartbreaking and inspiring. How anyone can live through what he did and come out so grounded is a miracle. I cried and cried some more rea [...]

    7. This addition to the series was a real disappointment to me. Unlike the couple's Abel & Devlin and Cabeb & Samuel I felt no real connection with these two Angel and Dane. This book was a frustrating read for me. First Angel: throughout the book he was totally at his step brothers and their scum bucket friends mercy bending to their will and being a total victim for the sake of his younger brother. I just wish Angel would have learned to trust and become friends with the other dancers at [...]

    8. I have becomes completely obsessed with this series, with these boys. I don't think I've ever read a book that evoked such a profound level of emotion from me. My heart felt like it would beat right out of my chest; at times I felt as though I couldn't breathe. It's rare to find an author that can share such a gift with you. I Honestly, I just don't feel as though I have adequate words to describe this book or this series. Other than to recommend that you read them for yourself. Please remember, [...]

    9. 4 stars. Would have been a full out 5 because I couldn't put his book down, but it just had too many similarities with Abel and Caleb. Rough home life, sibling needing help, past and present rape, and some connection between the rapist and the other hero of the story. Cheating is consistent even if the couple isn't technically "together" they are in love with each other. 4 stars for amazing writing, emotionally gripping characters, and a suck-you-in storyline (even if it has been done repeatedly [...]

    10. The books in this series are set around The Phoenix Club, a gay dance club, and the men working there. Each MC has their secrets and a past which comes and bites them and the trouble the past brings is surprising, violent and will keep you guessing. The men look after each other like family with Max the owner of the club as their leader.Absolutely fantastic series, I'm addicted to C.J Bishop books and can't wait to read more.

    11. this books are just soooo beautiful and you just feel like you know them all.C.J. Bishop this is perfection
