    1. Perfectly adequate cozy with all the usual tropes: Small town populated by strange people, colorful elder woman, supercop who couldn't catch a cold in the pouring rain, and the neurotic main character.I wonder if there's some kind of Freudian deal going on with the detective trios that so often populate cozies?Anyway, the colorful older woman is suspected of murdering her biker boyfriend, who also happened to be the brother of her ex-husband, who once tried to kill her. She's the main suspect. T [...]

    2. Dollycas’s ThoughtsTrixie Matkowski owns the Silver Bullet Diner and summer rental cottages. She also has a bit of land that came in handy when her friend’s significant other is found in a shallow grave. Antoinette Chloe Brown, or ACB for short, owns a restaurant in town and she wants to build a drive-in on land next to Trixie’s. Her biker boyfriend, Nick, has taken off without a word to anyone, her ex-husband, the boyfriend’s brother, is rotting in jail, and she is organizing a beauty p [...]

    3. With names like Trixie, ACB, Toxic Waste, and Fingers, just to name a few, it was easy to see this was going to be a fun book. The lead character Trixie is immediately likeable. I knew spending time with her would be interesting and it was. The supporting cast of characters added a real richness to the story. The mystery was a good one. Not real easy to guess, but not too hard either (Don’t you want to solve it yourself sometimes?). I really enjoyed this book. Ms. Wenger is a gifted storyteller [...]

    4. I told myself this book was going to be the fish-or-cut-bait book: either the writing got better or I was dropping the series. Well, the writing *did* get better, but I'd still say there's a long way to go before I'd call it better than average. Still, there's something compelling about the characters and the stories and the author has sucked me in for at least one more book.Full review: jennoklikes/post/114127

    5. What a fun read! Great cast of characters. Just love the names ACB, Fingers and Toxic Waste. Love the banter between Trixie and her ex-husband. ACB is a hoot. Trixie tries to help prove ACB didn't kill her boyfriend Nick and nothing but trouble comes her way. A very enjoyable cozy mysgtery.

    6. I could not put this book down. Once I got started I had to force myself to put it down to get some sleep and then woke up the next day to finish it. I have not read the other books in this series at all. I did not feel like I have missed much in starting book 3 before reading the others.I feel in love with Trixie from the moment the book started. The banter between ACB and Trixie is too funny at times and liberating at others. Helping her friend find out who really killed Nick had a lot of twis [...]

    7. This is one of my favorite Cozy series, and I was not disappointed with this installment of the series. This book kept my interest from the time I picked it up, until I finally finished it. I really like visiting Sandy Harbor and all of the eccentric characters that inhabit this small town. This book had everything that I love in a cozy, it kept me guessing till the end, and it also had just the right amount of humor in it. I like the setting of this series and I also like the characters, Trixie [...]

    8. I really want to love this series because the author is such a nice gal, but I just don't. This one was a slight improvement over the other 2, so calling it a solid 3-stars. I still don't buy Trixie as a sleuth. There's something just not quite right there. ACB is also just too over-the-top. She has a big heart and is a really nice person, but her "fashion" schtick is just TOO much. If she were toned down just a tad, she'd be more believable to me. I have the 4th one and intend to read it before [...]

    9. This is my favorite new series. The books have a very cozy and warm feeling to them, probably from the small town atmosphere and the fact that Trixie is always cooking something up at her diner. The preview at the end of the book has me excited for the next in the series. I hope this series continues for a long time!

    10. Another fun comfort food mystery. I enjoy all the quirky characters in this series, and look forward to reading the rest of the series.

    11. Trixie Matkowski enjoys serving the residents of Sandy Harbor, New York the best in comfort food from the Silver Bullet Diner. She’s happy to learn that her best friend Antoinette Chloe Brown has decided to open an old-fashioned drive-in movie theater right next door. A fun groundbreaking ceremony is planned, but the excitement turns to horror when the digging reveals the dead body of Antoinette Chloe’s missing boyfriend, Nick. Trixie’s friend is devastated over Nick’s death, but if that [...]

    13. I love quirky, serial mysteries and this one does not disappoint. Part of the "Comfort Food Mysteries" series, there is lots of good food and crazy characters -- like a motorcycle club made up of only four star chefs like Fingers and Toxic Waster. Trixie and Antoinette Chloe (ACB), local restaurant owners, are involved with the all new Miss Salmon pageant, when ACB's boyfriend and ex-brother-in-law, Nick Brownelli is found dead on ACB's land. The delicious Sheriff Ty Briscoe (a drawling Texan tr [...]

    14. Trixie owns and operates a diner where comfort food is the menu. The business includes vacation and fishing cabins and a big Victorian house that she shares with her dog. Now she is helping her friend, Antoinette Chloe Brown, oversee the Miss Salmon Contest, build a drive-in theater and hunt for her missing biker boyfriend. All of this leads to murder with suspects ranging from a biker gang to a wealthy investor. Book#3 continues to build the wonderful characters and setting that give us a solid [...]

    15. This is a terrific series. I love the way the author blends mystery with humor. Antoinette Chloe is one of my favorite cozy characters. She marches to her own beat but at the same time is generous, caring and very warm-hearted. I think she and Trixie compliment each other wonderfully. I also like the way the relationship is developing between Ty and Trixie. Sandy Harbor is a fun small town and the residents round out a cast of fun characters. The mystery was well plotted with plenty of suspects, [...]

    16. One thing I love about the cozy mysteries is that so many of them include great recipes to try out and this book is not exception. This book is a fun quick read that I read in one weekend. I have not read any other books in this series but was able to keep up just fine. Although now I want to go back and read the rest of the series. This is set in the fun little town of Sandy Harbor, now if we could only visit that would be nice. The characters are so fun to read about - they are someone you wou [...]

    17. Really fun read! What else can you expect with a Miss Salmon pageant, fishermen all over town, biker chefs, and a local murder mystery?! Trixie is determined to prove her friend ACB didn't kill her boyfriend chef (who was also her ex-brother-in-law), and if she happens to interfere with Ty's investigation? Well, so be it. Good thing he's so patient and understanding, haha.Several editing errors in this one, from missing words or letters to misspellings, but honestly, this was such a fun story, I [...]

    18. My mom got this book at her library's book exchange section. The title seems to play off of Guy Fieri's show "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives"--or at least that's what it made me think of. I haven't read the first two in this series (and probably won't)B is a little too over the top for me. I wasn't quite sure how Trixie and the others put up with her and her antics, but at least she seems to have a good heart. The dog (Blondie) didn't seem to figure too much in this book. The idea of a pageant sou [...]

    19. A fun cozy mystery. The first I have read by this author and have enjoyed it. Couple of twists and turns but I enjoyed the friendship aspect of this cozy. It was full of girl humor and totally enjoyable read. =)

    20. I am really enjoying this series BUT Trixie and Ty really really need to take it to the next level, I'm mean kiss the man already!😙

    21. I am really enjoying this series. This is book 3 and it kept me turning the pages. Trixie Matkowski's friend Antoinette Chloe is suspected of murdering her boyfriend Nick because all the clues lead to her. Trixie thinks her friend is being framed. Nick belonged to a biker gang of chefs and several of the guys in the gang had motive to want Nick dead. At the same time all this is going on, they are having the Miss Salmon pageant and Antoinette is in charge and the emcee. Because Sandy Harbor is a [...]

    22. Diners, Drive-ins and Death by Christine Wenger is book three in the Comfort Food Mystery Series. In this book, Trixie struggles to clear the name of ACB, Antoinette Chloe Brown, her muumuu wearing friend. ACB is accused of murdering her current love interest after his body is found buried in a field that she owns and her possessions are found liberally sprinkled around the scene. As the crime investigation is going on there is also a beauty pageant in town that has brought several out of town w [...]

    23. What a fantastic read, definitely a must for anyone who loves Cozies. The Characters are well written and fun to read. ACB is my favorite. I would love to spend some time with her, and maybe raid her collection of fascinators & jewellery. The main heroine Trixie is the type of person everyone wants as a friend, loyal, loving, and accepting of all your quirks. The story line was well written with the perfect amount of humor and drama. This was my first book in this series, I will definitely be r [...]

    24. I wanted to like this book as I so enjoyed the previous instalment (even overlooking the small oversight of having already met Ray's family & girlfriend, then asking to be introduced later in the story). This book-I couldn't ignore a huge character development issue with ACB. It seems the author forgot her age between the two books (as ACB recalls remembering the diner being delivered in 1952, but in the previous story she was part of the 1989 HS graduating class-meaning she was born in 1971 [...]

    25. The Silver Bullet diner is doing well, but owner Trixie is still too busy to take on more. When she's asked to provide housing in her large Victorian home for the contestants in the first annual Miss Salmon contest, to raise money for town projects, she reluctantly says yes. Her friend Antoinette Chloe Brown, better known as ACB, is worried about her former brother-in-law and current boyfriend Nick, who seems to have disappeared. For a lovable guy, Nick has a lot of enemies. And even ACB is a su [...]

    26. Another fun, and dangerous visit to Sandy Harbor, New York. Whether amateur sleuth Trixie Matkowski is cooking something up in the kitchen or helping a friend who is accused of murdering her boyfriend get out of a tight jam, you know that there will be plenty of good reading, romance and second or even third helpings of excellent diner food and gossip. Christine Wenger has created a series that keeps me coming back for more! In fact a 4th helping is already on my current reading shelf and I hope [...]

    27. Trixie is up to her neck in salmon - plans for the Miss Salmon Beauty Pageant. Trixie is on the committee for the new event of the town. She is also providing her Victorian home for the pageant participants, and cooking meals for them. Her friend ACB has decided to build a drive-in movie near Trixie's diner. ACB also asks Trixie to help her find ACB's missing boyfriend. But her friend ACB is in trouble when the drive-in movie plans are started.

    28. In Trixie's third outing, she helps her friend Antoinette Chloe Brownelli who's accused of her boyfriend Nick's murder. Although her unauthorized investigating is hampered by the summer fishermen, a motorcycle gang of chefs, and the first annual Miss Salmon Pageant, Trixie keeps on going. Newer characters include Margie Grace, the local Broadway "star", and Ray, the new busboy/computer whiz at the Silver Bullet Diner.

    29. Registered on Bookcrossing: I have two copies: #1 bookcrossing/journal/1 and #2 bookcrossing/journal/1Another fun cozy mystery with Trixie, owner and cook at the Silver Bullet diner. In this one her friend's boyfriend is dead and Antoinette Chloe is the main suspect. Trixie and Antoinette Chloe remind me of a Lucy and Ethel type friendship. ☺

    30. This is the 3rd book in the Trixie Matkowski Silver Bullet diner series. In this book she is helping her friend open a drive in movie theater and housing several contestents for a local pageant. When her friends missing biker friend is found dead while digging for the diner. She has to clear her friends name.
