    1. The writer, J. Wesley Sullivan, was an editor of my hometown newspaper after I left home. My mother gave me Sullivan's book in 1987, and I'm ashamed to say I didn't read it until now. It's a compilation of some of his personal columns. I especially enjoyed his writing about the family cabin, from conception to finished home, on the coastal Siletz River.
