    1. An excellent book for both the novice and the more-experienced canner! I've been doing canning for about 4 years now, and from what I see here, the instructions given match what I've been doing - but they are laid out very clearly, in an easy-to-understand manner. I could've saved myself a lot of online searching and comparing of directions if I'd just had this one book when I was learning! The book tells you what you need, how to do it - and then it gives you the recipes. The recipes are all one [...]

    2. When one hears mention of canning and preserving, for many it seems to have a connection with older women or someone's grandmother and days gone by. I have been told that canning is going out of style. Why should one work so hard to produce things that could be purchased in the store for close to the same cost to possibly even cheaper than it can be made?!Blue Ribbon Canning answers that question with the delicious recipes that are provided in this gorgeous book. These are award winning recipes [...]

    3. Over the last few years I have been able to add several fruit trees and a few fruit bushes to our backyard and this year I am getting a garden ready, so I figured I better get a head start and figure out the best preserve fresh produce before summer gets here. I went to Netgallay hoping there would be something there. While most publishers wont allow a romance blog to review their cookbooks, I found one that did and it just so happens it was just what I needed.I never knew how much went into can [...]

There's also a thorough rundown in the beginning [...]

    8. More reviews (and no fluff) on the blog surrealtalvi.wordpress/Blue Ribbon Canning is a one-stop resource book for everything canning (salsas, preserves, marmalades, fruits, jams, etc.). As the name implies, there is also an emphasis on entering competitions at fairs with the canned items (there is even a fair list at the back of the book). The recipes are well laid out, there are many photographs, and the variety is diverse. The book breaks down as follows: Introduction and Ingredients; Caning [...]

    11. I love preserving fruit and vegetables that I gather myself or get from family gardens. Most of the recipes I use are standard canning directions or family recipes, so I don't usually pick up new canning cookbooks. I'm so glad that I looked at this one. The directions are clear and straightforward, and there is great variety in the recipes provided. There are several basic recipes that I've seen many times before, but there are also many unique recipes that include variations on the basic and tr [...]

    16. I am so impressed with this book. I just started canning a few years ago using basic recipes but got scared to experiment with changing things up.
