    1 thought on “City Escape”

    1. Not as intense as the others in the series, the author herself admits to not being as vested in the characters, but still a good disaster/survival story.

    2. I still think that the whole thing was glossed over, as in the was a lot of light and not enough dark. Or perhaps, the dark parts weren't elaborated on, or played more of a part in the story. I also didn't like the similarities between this and the other books, where the guy is the only one that gets injured. And the person who comes back to town and realizes their family is dead -- I think that's kind of annoying. Also, the characters that were killed off were just names and numbers. There wasn [...]

    3. Mrs. Moore knew that leaving was the best chance for survival so she sent ten students on their way home. She could not leave those she was in charge of though so she must stay in the city that she knows means death. Unless she can convice the other to leave before it is too late.Again the characters make this book. I loved the character of Mrs. Moore and hated the one parent. This book tries to fill the gap of what happened to those that stayed behind.

    4. City Escape - Stranded BK 4Mz. Shaver was correct in that she stayed her heart wasn't as into these characters as the ones in her previous books. Nonetheless, tyre story was a good one with minimal editing errors. And for those, like myself, who wanted to know the date of the rest of the class it is well worth the read.

    5. StrandedNot as detailed as the first three books in this series. Personally, I think the author is getting tired of writing them. I liked the teacher and other characters, but was sorry so many of the characters died. I really didn't think it was necessary to kill of so many.

    6. ExcellentI have read all the previous books in this series and this one was just as fantastic as all the rest.

    7. Good readI like this series, even though it is geared to a young adult audience and I am almost 65. It would be excellent for teens.

    8. ☺They made it home. Had long hard travel but made it. Don't know what will happen next can't wait. We they all make it in the new world today.

    9. The final book in the Stranded series follows those left behind in L.A. after the EMP went off - a group of teens, the parents, and the teachers. Their storyline is a bit more condensed as they hide out in the city for a while before heading out to try to get back home. Their hideout is an ingenious idea from the author, but I think that other people would have thought of that as well. But other than that, Shaver doesn't ask much of the reader. She has written another great story that does a gre [...]

    10. 3rd book in this EMP apocalyptic series. This last group includes the teachers and chaperones with the last of the teens who decided to go to the Canadian Embassy for help. Unfortunately, it is only offices for replacing lost passports, etc. Not a refuge. So, they have to find a safe place with food to wait out several months in order to avoid the looting, rioting, fires, killings, and mass die-offs of the first of several waves of expected behaviors. Eventually (about a year later), a few of thi [...]

    11. m giving City Escape 4 stars but I give this entire series 5 amazing stars ! I love this author and how she writes this series ! I'm addicted ! This is one of the best books I have read for a long a time ! I can say though this last book wasn't as great as the other ones ! In the first book we learn Mrs Moore is a prepper we get to see some of her skills but not all This group has a lot of loss but it lacked all the action the other books have. I don't know I just didn't connect with the charact [...]

    12. In this last installment of the Stranded series, we finally find out what happened to the group of students, teacher, and chaperones who stayed behind in Los Angeles after the EMP. Their trials and tribulations are similar to what the other two groups experienced, but they take much longer in their journey. It was a nice wrap-up to the series, and especially good to see the fate of the heroic and clever teacher.

    13. EnjoyableI have read all of this series so far. I would recommend them to readers who like this genre, no zombies, just regular folks in a horribly irregular world.Their travels, challenges and ultimate successes are believable and were most engaging reading for me.Makes you believe that with some knowledge, prepping, and some luck, you could survive many of the pending disasters just awaiting us around the next corner.

    14. Man!I LOVE this authors books!! I've zipped through this series and I have to say that I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK SHE PUTS OUT! All of the characters in this series were very well written and the story going in 3 dif directions according to mode of travel made these books so dang interesting I had a hard time making myself put them down to do the things I was supposed to be doing. You know~ chores, eating, sleeping. Highly recommend these books!!!

    15. AwesomenessThe series ends with the same awesomeness as it had when it started. This is one hello of a good series. If you are a fan of post apocalyptic books then you must read these books.

    16. This book was interesting but nothing special. You have to suspend disbelief as you read but it was good enough that I wanted to finish the series. If you like end of the world stuff, you will enjoy it.

    17. It's probably just me but I don't like it when an author leaps over months of time in a single page. I loved the story, really the whole series. Guess I wanted more pages. That's my only complaint. Write on Ms. Shaver.

    18. Love all of these booksI am hooked on Ms.Shavers teenage heroes and heroines and plan to buy and read every book she publishes. This is my second time around and enjoy them as much as the first time.

    19. This series of 4books is so entertaining. I read them in order and I have no criticism. Loved Thelma all. A very talented author and an auto-buy for me

    20. The story was good in all four of these, but I especially liked watching the author's writing improve with each sequel. Interesting to see.

    21. Every entertainingI have read all of Theresa Shaver's books I could find and have enjoyed them all. I look forward to future books.

    22. This is the 4th book in a series of books. Absolutely LOVED the entire series. Real easy read. Really makes you think about things.

    23. Enjoyeasy to read and follow.enjoy how the characters pulled together and things tied together. it was good to know that children learn survive in school

    24. This whole series was AMAZING. I could not put it down. I felt everything the characters were living. BRAVOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
