    1. Week 5: Epic This 15,000 line poem tells the story of battles between the Greeks and the Trojans. The war began when Paris, a young Greek Prince, took Helen away from her Trojan husband, Menelaus. Menelaus and his brother, King Agamemnon, sail to Troy with an army to take back Helen. Although the Greek and Trojan war lasted for ten long years, the Iliad focuses on the few days of fighting that take place between the Greeks and Trojans as well as the argument between Achilles and King Agamemnon a [...]

    2. I loved the action, I lived the thrill, not a big fan of war but I loved it. Normally a story about war is about capturing land or something like that but to regain a war prize… a woman, its different. One thing I liked about it the most was the actual Trojan horse itself, and the strategy to get into the gates of troy flawless. Another thing was ma boy Achilies; ruthless with the sword and fierce with rage made it more exciting to read, and that he fights for his honor…. Not for the kings s [...]

    3. Summary TeaseThis starts nine years after the start of the Trojan War. There’s a struggle between cultures and sets of people, being solved through violence and war. A plague sets in to the Achaeans and the prophets declare the source of the problem is a kidnapped maiden. The Achaean king gives the maiden back to the kingdom, but they declare war against the people they stole this girl from. In between violent battles and mythological ties, the story of the Iliad by Homer creates a struggle wi [...]

    4. This book made me so mad. I mean during this time they were honoring heroic code and I don't think any of the characters were really honoring that. I mean Paris got his brother to do all his fighting even though it was his problem not hectors. Paris was the one who decided to steal Helen away from her husband. It's his problem why didn't he honor the heroic code? I understand why hector did it but still I wouldn't have done that. It's not very heroic to me to fight over a girl. I understand why [...]

    5. Fantastic tale of life in the Gods versus Greeks world. A very very entertaining exploration of peoples beliefs and a truly well worth it read.
