    1. What lies beneath the covers of a book is not always what you think, and The Jesuit Papers is a good example of this theory. And I mean that in the best possible way, because this book was surprising in more ways than one. The cover and title led me to believe that this was a scholarly story with religious overtones. But although some of the characters are indeed scholars, and the author clearly did an amazing amount of research on her subject matter, the story has so much more to offer than the [...]

    2. Having never been to the jungles of Paraguay, or even to Paraguay itself, I was intrigued by the location of this suspense/thriller. Aside from the travelogue aspect, the Jesuit Papers themselves – dating back centuries- had to be translated from Latin before a search for the jewels – as the book’s cover suggests - could ever begin. But once found who do they belong to? And to what limits will those people go who are undeserving? Will the trophy end up with The Guarani Indians, the haciend [...]

    3. Jesuit Papers by A.B. Fowler is a unique combination of religion, betrayal, love, cannibals yes, cannibals, vampire bats, piranhas set in the wild of Paraguay. At the center of the story is a set of papers, The Jesuit Papers, written 500 years ago by a Jesuit priest. They need to be translated and Kat is conned into doing that with the promise that she will be given help to find her missing father.Jesuit Papers gives the readers an insight into the untamed lands in Paraguay and its dangers from [...]

    4. The Jesuit Papers takes place in Paraguay and is filled with history and myths of the area. It includes the quest to find the location of an ancient underground civilization, the puzzle to unravel the truth about the Mayan calendar, the frustration of the locals' beliefs in primitive medicines and superstitions. The story will keep you guessing right to the end about where the Toba Indian cannibals are hiding, whether or not a coma was poison induced, and who betrayed whom. Curl up for a good re [...]

    5. What an enjoyable read! The Jesuit Papers brought to life a world that I had no idea existed. Sometimes we get caught up in the day-to-day events around us and don't get to experience the past and its secrets and "treasures." Guiding us through our search and perils; a man, a woman, and another man?! Also coming out of the shadows; the "supposed" fiance, the nanny and her aunt, the housekeeper, monks from a few hundred years ago, and yes, a hungry tribe of Cannibal Indians! Adding to the chaos, [...]

    6. This is a great jungle adventure story! Well written and edited, with fully developed, likable characters. Don't let the title fool you -- this isn't anything like The Davinci Code. Highly recommended!

    7. This was an excellent book, I could put it down because I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I would recommend this book to any one who wants an excellent read. I look forward to reading more of this authors work.

    8. This is a fast-paced, fun read. Action, adventure, and romance are blended together expertly. You constantly wonder, what is going to happen next? I look forward to the sequel.

    9. I enjoyed the adventure and the detail the author gave to foreign locales. It gave me the opportunity to participate and be involved with the story itself.
