    1. After seeing actual selections from Semina at the Wallace Berman retrospective in Los Angeles last week, I asked his son Tosh, if there was any book compiling these rare, hand-printed collections of poems, photos and drawings Berman mailed to his friends 9 times between 1955 & 1964.He told be about this out-of-print Boo-Hooray edition. And the wonderful Brand Art Library in Glendale had a copy! So delighted to have access to these treasures, which are like Tibetan termas, hidden messages lef [...]

    2. Johan Kugelberg did a beautiful job in making this book on my Dad's Semina. Every issue is laid out page by page, and the production is simple but funky elegant. There is a separate little booklet that comes with it, which is a couple of essays and a Q&A between me and mom Shirley Berman. For those who are interested, I would pick up on his as soon as possible. Not that many copies printed, and for sure will be a hard-to-find classic. I'm very happy how this project turned out.

    3. Semina reminds me so much of poetry and art from my high school and college years. It feels very natural and familiar and energizing to me. For years I made, sent, and received mail art (I had as many as 40 pen friends at one point), I was the editor of my high school's arts and literature magazine, I wrote a lot of poetry in college--so Semina is like finding something new in something old, but really just finding an essential part of myself again.
