    1. This is a quick read and exquisite analysis of the liberal belief construct. Bill Whittle interviews Evan Sayet about it here: youtube/watch?v=61BhYP It's 12 minutes and will probably motivate you to read the book.

    2. Fantastic read, rings true. If only we could do something about it. This is in the same vein as David Mamet's book, also highly recommended.

    3. I would summarize the author's position like this: the left rejects both Athens and Jerusalem in favor of The Garden of Eden. This is distinct from wanting Jerusalem. The right, the author claims, wants both Athens and Jerusalem. As someone who wants Athens without Jerusalem, I'm miffed by this, but I can't dispute his characterization of our political situation. I've found that a lot of atheists want to say the left is in favor of Athens alone, the right, Jerusalem alone, but that simply isn't [...]

    4. The simple idea of the value of discretion is exquisitely examined against the alternative.r making a value judgement. What happens in this case is the liberal state that always chooses the worst possible side in almost any debate. I found myself first saying "no, this cannot be true" , and then ultimately unable to find fault with the thesis. His youtube lecture sums up the book almost better than the book and is a better starting place to understand this argument.

    5. Basically an opinion piece, this short book is compelling and thoughtful. It cogently connects the dots of things I have observed, experienced and wondered about. The content was originally developed and delivered as a speech. There were sections that provided drama for the spoken word, but seemed difficult and awkward for me as a reader. Perhaps a more active editor would have reworked the text to accommodate the different format.

    6. Required reading IF you want to understandA very lucid analysis of Liberal political thinking and its development over the years as well as it effect upon individuals.

    7. This quick read explains why the Modern Liberal's thinking leads him to side with evil over good, wrong over right and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. It helps me understand how liberals can feel so strongly about validating sexual perversions, protecting terrorists and criminals while endangering law-abiding citizens, promoting sexual promiscuity and widespread abortion, ignore basic laws of economics (i.e. pushing for a higher minimum wage that is only causi [...]

    8. A very interesting look into Modern Liberal thinking! As someone who is fresh into the adult world of working and becoming a provider for myself and my future children, I'm realizing more and more the problems my generation and upcoming generations will not only face but cause as a result of buying into this entitled, "I don't need to do better" fantasy of the Modern Liberal movement for mediocrity and complacency. We are no longer taught to think for ourselves and form our own opinions, but to a [...]

    9. There are two kinds of people in America today, those who are Liberals and those who are not. Evan Sayet was a self professed Liberal on 9/10. On 9/13 he became conservative in his thinking. We all know what happened on 9/11. On 9/12 he took time to reflect on what happened on 9/11 and on what he thought about it. This book explains how Liberals think, how he once thought and why that thinking is wrong. Personally I knew that Liberals significantly thought different that I did/do but never knew [...]

    10. I don't disagree with the theme or the specific points, but I guess I'm spoiled; Prager, Shapiro, Whittle, and their kind do this sort of thing so much better. I have read this caustic style of analysis from those who criticize conservatism, and it's no more palatable here just because the target is more deserving.
