    1. Amy is a textile designer. She has made a lovely home for her husband, Evan, and their two children. But the mill where he is the CEO has failed. Evan left her and the children. His excuse is he hates where they live and she is not a good enough wife. She manages to get the house in the divorce, which she now has to sell. Amy is trying to save the mill and the town. But another bid for the mill has come in to the bankruptcy judge. Jacques Saint-Etienne, a European, has come to North Fork. He doe [...]

    2. Jacques "Zack" St. Etienne & Amy WarrenThe mill that kept this sleepy NC town going went bankrupt a year before (thanks to Amy's ex). She has a proposal to make it run again thus saving the town and her getting the cottage she dreams of turning into a B&B. He's a suave European who wants to buy the mill so he can get the historical fabric plates. They come up with a plan to re-open the mill and use the plates to do what Zack wants and save the town.Review

    3. Finally! Something new! Rice takes a new look at a fairly standard romance plot: divorced mother needs money and someone to make her feel like a woman while also respecting her skills. I liked the approach of the small town all pulling together to accomplish something while accepting the influx of foreign help/competition.The romance was real, as were the characters. Even though our hero was an international playboy I could relate to him quite easily.

    4. This sequel to Small Town Girl is a charming tale of two emotionally wounded people, seemingly with little in common, who find that they have much to share as they grow close even as they clash over ownership of a mill and a house. It takes a while but eventually they find ways to make their different lifestyles work.

    5. Thanks to my Christmas gift of a NookColor, I'm inhaling books like an icy glass of tea on a hot steamy summer afternoon. This was a predictable though enjoyable read. I loved that it was set in the mountains of North Carolina. I'm quite familiar with many of the locations mentioned. It's definitely a romance but there was enough action and humor to keep me quite entertained.

    6. Great continuation of Small Town Girl, which I read a few years ago. The storyline was very down to earth, very easy to get into and visualize. The characters are easy to know and love! A good read!!!

    7. A quick read that was perfect for my beach vacation. Simple, but interesting characters. Enjoyable even though predictable.

    8. Didn't realize this was a smarmy romance novel when I picked it up. It borders on bodice-ripping, with a simpering female lead. Not my cup of tea.

    9. It's a pretty good story. I felt that the protagonists were thinking a bit repetitively at times, but otherwise well drawn characters and an engaging story.
