    1. Reading this book at the same time I was in Yosemite National Park made the experience real. The author describes the women who were involved in preserving the park and the areas around it. You don't hear much about the women in the park just the men. This book was an eye opener.The Indians of the area had a history which is revealed in the book, along with the early women settlers.     2. This book was great for short and simple details on pioneer women in the Yosemite valley. I was surprised that there were so many spelling and grammatical errors though, and it made it a little difficult to follow at times. Made it feel like I was reading an ARC, but I don't think it was.
