  1. I love the watercolor illustrations in this book. Mosey is adorable! They also elicit memories of visiting my family's farms when I was a child. The story is told from the point of view of the dog, who can't figure out why his favorite napping place in the field keeps on changing. The back story ends up being the cycle of corn: how it is planted, grows, and then is harvested. It can serve as an introduction to farming and corn, and even has a page at the end that provides further information. I k [...]

  2. Mosey’s Field tells the story of how a lovable farm dog deals with the planting, growing and harvesting cycles of corn in his beloved napping field. He loses his favorite napping spot in the corn rows and while looking for it encounters adventures in the corn with rabbits and discovers a town on the other side of the field. The water color illustrations add softness to the changing of the seasons, the farm machinery and the field of corn during the growing stages. The chronology of corn plantin [...]

  3. Mosey’s Field tells the story of a corn farm and walks children through all the seasons of field corn from the eyes of a dog. Mosey watches the seeds get planted and notes how “the stalks grew tall and the leaves crisscrossed each other, green upon green, so there were only tiny patches of sky.”It’s not surprising to discover that both the illustrator and the author of this book are teachers. Barbara Lockhart is a retired kindergarten teacher and Heather Crow is a teacher and freelance a [...]

  4. Mosey the dog is an appealing character and it's fun to follow him throughout the planting and harvesting of a field of corn. Mosey has his particular spot in a field and while the field remains barren he has no trouble finding it, but once the corn grows it becomes harder and harder to find until one day Mosey gets lost. But Mosey isn't the kind to give up and with persistence manages to once again find his spot. Not only is this a cute story but it does a nice job of explaining planting and ha [...]

  5. a lovely little farm dog name Mosey witnesses the changes in his field, taking it from bare dirt to a corn field ready for harvest. although the field changes dramatically, Mosey if pleased to find some things still remain the same - his favourite napping place and his food dish by the back door are 2 of thoseso a small section at the back with some facts about corn.I love the illustrations chosen to accompany Mosey's adventures in this book!** thanks to NetGalley & the publishers for this c [...]

  6. I liked this book. The pictures were good but the story was a little long. I like the clouds are animals shapes It really was a good depiction of summer and lazy summer days napping and also about the cycle of corn. I like in the back that it talks about the corn lifestyle.

  7. Great circle story told from the point of view of the dog. Loved the back-matter about corn. Kids will love looking for the extras that are in the pictures.

  8. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. This book cover is on my Pinterest board and my blog, Michelle Dragalin’s Journey.
