    1. I've never read this author before and picked up this short story because I liked the title and cover. A gamble, I know, but it paid off.Mark Leslie's main character, Wilson, is new in town, lives in a remote area, and receives unwelcome visitors in the middle of the night. I hate to say more, in fear of a spoiler, but I thought Wilson's actions were believable and the setting was perfect. Dark, eerily quiet, and in a word?     2. I really like scarecrows getting alive. But I expected a bit more thrilling elements than the main character turning into a scarecrow and seeing that his soon-to-be girlfriend also turned into one. A quick read though!
