    1. An engrossing story of love and loss. With JOANNA, Jan Warburton builds on the success of A FACE TO DIE FOR with a well-told story of love and loss that begins in the late sixties and develops over the next twenty years. Once again this talented author gets deep inside the emotions and motivations of her lead character. She paints a clear and believable picture of a woman struggling with the demands of what is expected of a woman at this time and the demands she places on herself for success as [...]

    2. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Jan Warburton's novel Joanna, this tale of love, loss, tragedy and happiness. It introduced me to characters, Joanna and Oliver, who had been characters but had a lower profile in her previous book A Face To Die For, another excellent story, (please see that separate review for more information). The time period, recent history from 1969 onwards, a time I am familiar with, and this is very evocative and accurate of that time. Settings mainly Singapore and Hampsh [...]

    3. Jan Warburton. I "met" her through a forum, at the time I didn't know what sort of books she had written. One day her book THE SECRET was was made free for download to Kindle and so I downloaded it onto mine. When I got to reading it, I found the book really good. I was surprised for a new author. I didn't know what to expect as I hadn't had my Kindle for long and didn't even realize that sometimes authors give books for free for a certain amount of time.I looked for another book she had written [...]

She could have easily given up and relied on other or failed all together, but for her plucky character and with the help of good friends she made her own way. It is not all a bed of roses and sadly she faces a great loss. Does she pick herself up again ? Jan Warburton’s description of Singapore and the New Forest in England made the places come ali [...]

    5. a lovely story of one woman's journey through a supposedly happy marriage that ends in betrayal, love which blossomed from a long friendship but ended in sadness, to finally finding love again. beautifully writtent necessarily something I would normally read, but my name is Joanna so the title jumped out at me! glad I did read it though.
