    1. I loved this book and I can't wait for the next in the series. There are quite a few different characters, each with their own personality and each with a background story that has yet to be fully divulged leaving an air of curiosity about them. The whole book is full of mystery and just when you think you might be about to find some answers Eddie throws up new questions instead and the mystery deepens. It is written in the present tense, which, although unusual, I found to be quite refreshing a [...]

    2. This book is not my normal kind of reading. I think it was trying too many things at once. The narration in the third person present tense was jarring in a way that clashed with the gradual pace of the mysteries in the plot. There were quite a few mineable and interesting characters but I think the concurrent story lines needed more separation to maximize my engagement with them.
