    1. I really enjoyed the first book of the series and was confused / disappointed by the beginning of this one. It is worth carrying reading though. West manages to craft a solid story even though the heroes of the first one are not to be met. Not your usual fantasy novel with the story of Leitos young runaway slave. A bold choice by the author. Recommended nonetheless Am wondering where the third tome will be going story wise.

    2. This book was a thrilling ride but not as good as the last book in the series. (view spoiler)[ It starts off several hundred years after the first book but the main character is still alive because of powers he inherited because of the "god". In this book he and his son are slaves and the Father sacrifices himself so his sun could escape the demon slave holders. after a lot of running he meats a hunter then some more running then two more hunters. These hunters andpeople who chase runaway slave [...]

    3. Run run awayA slave from birth and then a chance for freedom, just don't stop running. While a nice tale of trusts and betrayals set in the post apocalyptic world caused by the unleashing of the Powers of Creation it had no other connection to the previous book until the last chapters when the connections were all drawn at one as a pretty little package. To me that just cheapened the entire story line. It would have been more enjoyable to have the truth revealed in bits along the story line.

    4. Very enjoyable read I was a little lost in the beginning, as I had some notion that the story would pick up roughly where the original had left off and it doesn't, but caught my stride soon enough. There were some gaps in this story that I would have liked to have had filled in, but overall they didn't detract from the overall story that much but I think they would have added greatly to the story! Anyway, not a bad book overall on to the next one.

    5. Where does one begin? Every once in awhile we are lucky enoug h to stumble across an author who gets it. This is one of those. The world he cretes is dark and menacing. The mood dark. The characters are vibrant and full of life. The evil is of such a degree that even the most vile characters seem good by comparison. And to top it all off a twist of an ending that ties it to the firdt book. I am looking forward to more.

    6. Solid followupAwesome story for a second book in this series. The characters seemed real and some of the twists were unexpected. I would tell anyone that has a love for fantasy novels, this is one not to miss.

    7. Greatcuz I'm going to read the rest of the seriescuz I liked it is very good story very well written so read it I am sure you will find it interesting just as I have

    8. Good readenjoyable read, looking forward to next book 3 to see how the vengeance works outa good steady paced book
