    1 thought on “Cold Justice”

    1. Cold Justice is the sequel to River Whispers and it picks up not too long after the first book ended. Regi and Sam are finally getting married, right after Sam's baptism in the LDS church. The big problem is that Sam is a no show for both his baptism and his wedding. Did he run out on his soon to be bride? The clues all point to something else and the adventure to Alaska begins. I found this fast paced mystery/suspense kept me reading, and not wanting a break. Though the reader knows some of the [...]

    2. I liked the unexpectedness in the events of the plot and the continuing story of Regi and samuel from Peterson's earlier book. It seems just as life is going the direction that you want it, a spin is thrown in throwing off all of your plans. Murder charges,a kidnapping, an unexpected trip to Alaska, and the Alaskan Raven clan are all part of the thickening plot that leads you on an adventure to finding out the truth.Samuel Tanner and Regi are finally going to have their happily ever after, with [...]

    3. I don’t know what to say about his book. There are two things I don’t like about books written by members of the church. First they seem to think if they don’t bear there testimony they are not a good member. Second authors think they need to make fun of the church. They bring out something that is odd about the church and milk it for all it is worth. This book falls in the first category. The whole Joseph Smith first vision is told in the story along with if I only had a Book of Mormon to [...]

    4. This is a good LDS mystery/romance that is a continuation of the story in "River Whispers." Just as Regi and Samuel are going to get married, Samuel is kidnapped and taken to Alaska to stand trial for murder. Actually, the tribe has already decided he's guilty, so it's more of a kangaroo court where he's guilty and doesn't have a chance to prove himself innocent. Some people are turned off by a "preachy" book, but I loved that both Samuel and Regi depended upon the Lord to guide them and help th [...]

    5. Cold Justice is the sequel to River Whispers. It starts right off with suspense. I really enjoyed the characters - Regi and Samuel . . . and even the bad guys. There was some fun humor to break up the "Holy cow! What's going to happen???" suspense, which was good for me. I loved the traveling, the descriptions and how it was all woven into the plot, making the character's predicaments even more compelling. Cold Justice is a great summer read for suspense lovers!

    6. Regi and Samuel are a day away from getting married when Samuel is kidnapped and taken back to his Alaskan tribe to stand trial for murder. This story covers the adventure of both Samuel being taken back to Alaska from Idaho and Regi discovering that he has been kidnapped and following the trail to Alaska to help Samuel. Another predictable but this time exciting adventure.

    7. LDS Fiction3.5 stars, rounding up on this one.It took me awhile to remember the book before this one and click back into the story and characters. The setting was way too cold for me. I never want to go to Alaska. I'm such a wimp. And, if I were ever to go, I never want to get there by the methods of travel experienced in this book!A good light suspense/mystery. :)

    8. I felt like there was more of a focus on churchy stuff than there was on the actual mystery which, overall, isn't such a bad thing BUT it would have been a lot better if there was more of a focus on the action and mystery, and less of a focus on all the fluffy churchy stuff. I don't think LDS fiction has to be uber churchy to be LDS fiction.

    9. Samuel didn't show up for his baptismWill he show up for his wedding tomorrow or has he run out on Regi againFeeling that he wouldn't run this time Regi sets out to find him.Her search leads her to Alaska and the Raven ClanCan she find Samuel before it is too late?Filled with suspense this story will take you on an amazing adventure.

    10. The plot was great and I enjoyed the twists and turns in the narrative. But I didn't really like the sentimentality that, at times, was over the top. I suppose this book had two different genres: mystery/adventure and romance. The mystery/adventure part was very intriguing, but the romance part didn't seem very realistic in some ways or perhaps it was just lost on me.

    11. This is a good sequel to "River Whispers". This book continues the story of Regi, Samuel, Claudia, and Wakanda. Samuel is kidnapped and taken to Alaska where he is accused of killing his mentor. Regi, Claudia, and Wakanda follow him.

    12. Although it is second in the series, I think you could enjoy it without reading the first one. I loved watching some of the characters grow and develop, although I felt like it took a long time to get to the final conflict and it ended too fast. Still a good read.

    13. I really enjoyed this sequel and felt it really added a lot to River Whispers! I loved all of the "minor" characters, and how they all had to work together in order to help them! Getting to know more about everyone really helped me feel a part of the story. I really liked it.

    14. This book was more predictable than River Whispers. There was still some suspense, but I picked out the murderer before it came out in the book.

    15. there is one book before this one, so you don't get the background of how this one starts, but really good book LDS author, keeps your attention read it in a day.

    16. A little bit suspense, a little bit romance and a little bit missionary work. A nice conclusion to river whispers.

    17. I loved the Alaskan setting and the fast pace! A contemporary story that feels like it could have really happened. Plus, Wikanda is hilarious.
