    1. This review was originally posted on my blog Journey with BooksWell, this is the first work of Rachel Van Dyken I've ever read and honestly, I'm thinking why haven't I ever read anything from her until now.The book was good and the cover was perfectly gorgeous! It's definitely one of my most fun reads. It's a bit different from other Contemporary Romances because it's like a Modern Day Regency Romance. It's like both Historical and Modern Contemporary Romance in one book which I think is brillia [...]

    2. 4 Compromising Kessen - ❤ Audible Review HERE ❤I enjoyed the heck out of this book.Kessen & Christian meet and have a love hate thing going on. Both family really want them become a love match. The wit and banter that goes on in this book or any Rachel Van Dyken book gets me every time. I love how each character are always so strong but yet have a weakness and its usually the other character. ;) Just like in this book. Duncan and Nick are Kessen and Christian’s best friends and they ta [...]

    3. I'm between 3.5-4 on this one. I definitely enjoyed it. The storyline was cute (I LOVE when the main characters start out hating each other!), I loved the wit and sarcasm, and the characters were great. I might have even liked the two side characters, Duncan and Nick, as much as the main ones! I found myself actually laughing out loud at some parts. That being saidd I can't believe I'm going to say thisbut I think I could have done with less kissing. I mean, I understand being madly attracted to [...]

    4. Kessen is half British and after her mother dies, her dad's greatest wish is for her to return to her British roots. He sends her to England to help with that part of their business empire and to experience a season and she almost immediately meets Christian--who runs things on that end and is extremely attractive. A love-hate relationship ensues and sparks fly, especially after they are found in a compromising situation and her grandmother demands that they marry. It's almost like an arranged m [...]

    5. I am a huge fan of Ms. Van Dyken I have enjoyed every read but this one takes the cake. I think it is my favorite so far. The plot and storyline are solid and had me grinning ear to ear. I was captivated by all the witty banter in this contemporary regency romance. Kessen is such a fun heroine who is a hopeless romantic at heart. I liked getting to know her and Christian takes things in stride and has many surprises up his sleeve.Nick and Duncan were icing on the cake. Having your best friend ar [...]

    6. Christian - ”I don’t think I would ever be happy with just one part of you.”It was the most romantic thing anyone had ever said to her in her entire life. It was easy to throw compliments at women; it was quite another thing to want her soul as well.AHHH!! This book is a good kind of ridiculous. I thoroughly enjoyed its absurdity. There are so many good lines and perfect moments. Perfect! Oh, and there's lots of kissing. Splendid! I liked that they were unpredictable and hot. He kissed her [...]

    7. This was charming! I loved how lighthearted it was, I caught myself smiling a lot throughout the book. Christian and Kessen had great chemistry, I liked their banter. I also loved their friends Nick and Duncan, they were a riot. I loved how they were trying to keep them apart before the wedding and also how they wanted to help them get to know each other. I think the characters would probably die if they knew I've never had a drop of coffee or tea! There was a lot of kissing in this book! They co [...]

    8. Such a cute story. I absolutely loved the characters. I loved Kessen's personality. Who am I kidding I loved Christian, and the BFF's - Nick & Duncan too! What fun characters. Lots of lol moments. That being said, the make-out scenes were very passionate, starting to way cross the borderline. Seems like the probably would've gone all the way before marriage (even though they both seemed like they didn't want to) if they hadn't been constantly interrupted. But they waited and I am glad that w [...]

    9. There was a time in the book that I was a little frustrated with the characters. Also I would forget that the character are suppose to be older then me, I am 20 and they seemed like teenagers. This was a cute book and is also clean even though the title seemed a little misleading. I will say that it is a pg-13 rating. I loved the cover. I give it *3 1/2 *stars.

    10. Author: Rachel Van DykenPublished By: Astraea PressAge Recommend: AdultReviewed By: Arlena DeanRaven Rating: 4Blog Review For: GMTAReview:"Compromising Kessen" was a definitely good fun romance read with it being a modern day but yet it had bits of history in the story. Both of these together made this story a fantastic read. It was one that was hard to put down until I was finished. I really like all the humor it had bringing out a lots of interesting situations that you will only have to read a [...]

    11. "When you say Season," she said calmly, "you mean summer or winter, correct?"Her father's face turned red. It was as if she had just committed treason. Seriously. What was with British people? They didn't hug, and they sang their national anthem as if they ruled the world, which in fact was actually quite the opposite of true.'For every female that has dreamed her life would turn into a Regency romance novel, Compromising Kessen is a dream come true.Filled to the brim with hilarity, gorgeous men [...]

    12. The beginning of the book held promise. But then it didn't go anywhere - just chapters of the same thing over and over again (I must kiss you, but I shouldn't because we're not married, oh wait, we've been interrupted again). Once the marriage was agreed to, there was no conflict of any description, no challenges to overcome. Overall I liked the characters and banter, but felt the lack of plot let the story down.

    13. LOVED this one! It made me laugh, A LOT! I love when authors can make you enjoy the characters and situations they are put in, makes them seem more real. This is a must read for those that like to laugh and love.

    14. When you want a nice, fluffy read without much conflict and a lot of goofing off, pick this up.If you want any depth, move on to something else. There were holes in the plot and their two friends basically had the same personality. Though, that's not the only thing it lacked. If the author had made us wait a little longer for their first kiss and had them at least pretend to hate each other a little longer, I would have loved it. Timing is everything. So, again, it was fluffy. Sometimes fluffy is [...]

    15. One would imagine that it would be difficult to be the offspring of nobility. High expectations abound, and it’s all too clear in today’s society that this is the case, as power and prestige in our society equal more and more scrutiny with the advent of the internet and 24/7 news. Therefore, imagine being the subject of this scrutiny as the daughter of a nobleman, and you too would want to get as far away from it as possible. In Compromising Kessen we are introduced to Kessen Newberry, a hard [...]

    16. I enjoyed this book. Loved the teasing, games, banter, and fun. Great romance. Very clean. Every now and then I was lost, but it may have been the editing?? I enjoy this author. From the book; The last thing career-driven Kessen Newberry wants is to leave her home in Colorado to spend a Season in London, far away from her job, her friends and the memories of her mother. However, her father, the Earl of Newberry, threatens to disinherit her unless she gets in touch with her British roots. She comp [...]

    17. Love the hilarious word play between the characters. The Regency flavor in a contemporary setting makes for lots of interesting situations which had me laughing out loud throughout the book.Kessen, the spoiled rich American who despises everything that has to do with her father's British heritage is forced to go to London for some cultural immersion. There she meets Christian Vandenbrook, the heir to the dukedom, who likewise hates everything American.A very light, enjoyable read. Highly recomme [...]

    18. little leary about this one since it wasnt a Regency Romance. I really do love being proven wrong :) I LOVED this book is like the perfect marriage of Regency Romance and Mondern Day. I absolutely adored half-brit American born Kessen and her personality getting under the skin of the future Duke of Albany :) These two spark from the moment they meet! I totally recommend this read it was refreshing and funny!

    19. 3.5 STARS: Definitely original!! How great for us regency lovers- a modern day regency romance! My ONLY issue with this story was that, in the year 2012, the leading lady would go along so easily! Maybe it's because of her love of historical romance, but she took the news way too easily for me. Compelling read overall!

    20. I enjoy Ms. VanDyken's work! This story was different than some of the others I've read but I enjoyed it!! Its an earlier work and somewhat of a crossover workntemporary regency. Fun reading and good character and story development.

    21. I really like how it pulled you in from the start. It was light, funny, and the chemistry between Christian and Kessen right from the begining.

    22. Absolutely could not put this book down! It's a romantic, sexy (yet not too sexy), laugh out loud novel! Makes me want to hop on a plane to London today and seek out my own Regency Romance!! :)

    23. This really shouldn’t have been publishedBad grammar, incomplete scenes and descriptions of people/places/situations, adults acting like children (not in a good way”, no explanation for the entire premise of the book are a few of the problems this book had. Plus an ending that read like someone just mashed together a few story-ending tidbits and called it “the end”. I am a fan of many of this author’s book which is why I read this -but this is rude to your fan base and makes me want to [...]

    24. What an Amazing Story! This was an awesome and so very interesting book. I just love this Author's books and her way of writing. The humor and spark she has to each of her books is utterly intriguing. I'm addicted. This book was just as amazing and so well-written. The romance and realistic feel to it all. The slapstick comedy and the characters were all uniquely written with personalities that were all unique as well. It was like a story from the today's Times but with a feel of Tue early 1900 e [...]

    25. So GoodI thought this book was a riot. People at work think I'm insane because I was listening to the audio book and was laughing so hard I was crying. This book was a joy to read. And I can't wait to read it again.

    26. Rachel Van Dyken knocked it out of the park again-several laugh out loud moments with the crazy friends of main characters, and who doesn't want a storybook-come-to-life experience?
