    1. Nathan Pennington served Librarything early reviewers (and of course as much as other readers) his latest crime story Death of an Escort. Ray Crusafi is a private investigator, whose business is kind of slow. He is married to Marline and because of his past he has built a house, which is very safe and can withstand any attack. Ray Crusafi has a false identity, without his wife knowing. He is running from someone from his past. His family doesn’t know, that he is still alive. Ray is satisfied w [...]

    2. I got this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers, and sometimes the books I get from them aren't very good, but I liked it a lot. Ray's character is everything a good detective's character should be: intelligent, funny, and flawed. In this book Ray, a private detective, is hired by a 19 year-old named Macy, whose mother died. Her mother was an escort who only serviced female clients. She went to see s client and was found dead in the Sleep EZ Inn. The police think she committed suicide, but M [...]

    3. A detective who has a lot of secrets that he keeps from everyone. His present case deals with an apparent suicide that the family believes was not a suicide. During his investigation he turns up an internet porn ring that leads him to the big city and the Mafia. The solution to the case is a surprise. The outcome is that he is going to open up more to those that he loves. A very interesting and fast read. I look forward to more of Ray Crusafi mysteries.

    4. A decent fast paced, sometimes violent, private detective book. I enjoyed Ray even though he is a violent (at times) person with an unknown past. There are smatterings of humor that help the story. There are some grammatical and misspellings that do not help. Overall this is a good read for mystery fans. The story is interesting and I will probably read more in the series.

    5. This book by Pennington is the first of a series. I can see why it is going to be a series because it is a mystery well done. I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were sketched out and the plot was interesting. J. Robert Ewbank author "Wesley's Wars" and "John Wesley, Natural Man, and the 'Isms'"
