    1. If a naked man falls out of the sky and a reporter isn't there to actually see it, will the naked man still make a sound? If that man is Buddy What - the answer is a resounding yes, and the sound is one that will reverberate around the world. What an incredible story, and one that all too clearly depicts the sad state of today's media, social and otherwise, and man's unending search for something to believe in. If only life could be as simple as Buddy lived it, but then I suppose that's the poin [...]

    2. Praise for the novelRobin Williams: "A hilarious blend of Kurt Vonnegut and Zen Buddhism."Bobcat Goldthwait: "Funny and smart. I stayed up all night reading it on the toilet."

    3. The Man Who Fell to Earth is Not David BowieUsing the premise of a man who fell to earth with no identity, no clothes and no injuries, Dan Spencer highlights the foibles of our society as the man's story becomes well-known throughout the world. He is examined by "experts," interrogated by the government, subjected to every medical test known to man, and everything shows he is a completely healthy, normal human male, with no brain injury to cause his amnesia, but he is finally allowed to go his o [...]

    4. I received an e-copy of this book from Dan Spencer for reviewing. The pitch/summary of this book sounded hilarious, so I decided to read it.Buddy What is a naked man who falls from the sky. For obvious reasons he becomes a media star and everybody wants to know his story, since he doesn't have one- a possible amnesiac- the media begins to speculate. As a result he is ultimately thought to be a God or a messiah. Buddy What's behavior supports this theory too- the simple clothing, the lack of inte [...]

    5. The word media is derived from the Latin word for medium. “Be Now Buddy What” is a satire of how our internet-age media fails to keep to an unbiased, factual medium, driving stories toward the edges of sensationalism. Through ironic takes on Greek myths, a naked man mysteriously survives what becomes a fall to innocence; unscathed, but amnesiac, the falling man sets out to discover who he is under the borrowed name of Buddy What. The reporter who haplessly got the exclusive to Buddy’s fall [...]

    6. I finished this book a few days ago, and have had to think about this review. Because that is what happens after you read Be Now, Buddy What. You think.Dan Spencer emailed me about reviewing Be Now, Buddy What and it seemed like a very interesting, funny book. So I said “yes.” And I’m glad I did. What Spencer has created is a witty, entertaining, tongue-in-cheek look at people’s need to belong, to have something to believe in, humanity’s fickleness, and the media’s ruthlessness and t [...]

    7. A naked man falls out of a clear sky with a sonic boom, creates a crater, and is totally unharmed except that he has amnesia. The narrator of this story is a news reporter who happened to be close by when it happened and the story became his. The man became known as Buddy What, and the amateur video by a tourist of his fall from the sky soon became viral on the internet. Buddy decides if he cannot find out who he is, he will discover his purpose, which, after soul searching while living under an [...]

    8. When I started reading this book, I thought to myself, What did I miss? I watch the news every night, and I don't recall seeing anything about this. That's just the way this book goes, and it keeps you in suspense every single page. You have to know and find out who Buddy is. I won't go into any particulars because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. Just get the book and read it. You'll know what I mean when you do. Altogether, I found it to be a really good read. And I would read any book wri [...]
