    1. This is a fun rhyming book that is created for the Kindle by the author of the bestselling (Kindle) children's book "If You Have A Hat".Gerald Hawksley appropriately subtitles it, "A Silly Rhyming Children's Picture Book" and I know that kids will love it. Jake is a master baker and he turns out cakes of every description. He crafts an upside down cake for an acrobat, a carrot cake for some rabbits, a pumpkin cake for witches and their cats, a banana cake for a monkey, and a cheese cake for a mo [...]

    2. "Jake Bakes Cakes" by Gerald Hawksley appropriately is subtitled "A Silly Rhyming Children's Picture Book". Jake does indeed bake cakes of every sort. The story proceeds through a series of whimsical cakes Jake bakes, such as an upside down cake for acrobats, cheese cake for mice, carrot cake for rabbits, etc. Appropriate and silly illustrations accompany each type of cake and its associated rhymes. Some of the types of cakes are not necessarily real; for example, oat cakes for horses, and other [...]

    3. Jakes Bakes Cakes: A Silly Rhyming Children’s Picture Book by Gerald Hawksley is a 34 page ebook available on . This ebook is about Jake baking different types of cakes for different people and characters. Each persons’ or characters’ cake is custom made to fit their unique taste; like a cheese cake for a mouse and a banana cake for a monkey. This is a simple picture book for young children. 4. Cute rhyming picture book for preschoolers. Jake bakes a cake that is appropriate for any type of customer. Wonderful and clever one line rhymes will delight young listeners. For example, Jake bakes fish cakes for fish, upside down cakes for acrobats, tin can cakes for robots, coffee cakes for sleepyheads and iced cakes for penguins. The illustrations are colorful, humorous and appropriate.Children will want to hear this book over and over; they will be reading it back to you in no time.

    5. The illustrations are cute and children will enjoy the rhymes but I wish the author had put more thought and effort into the types of cakes that Jake bakes. They're mostly unoriginal and some are cliched or stereotypical ie banana cakes for monkeys. It's also a little long, about a quarter of it could have easily been cut out. Still, it's cute and sometimes funny and I expect most children will laugh at the rhymes and pictures.

    6. Jake Bakes Cakes: A Silly Rhyming Picture Book for Kids by Gerald Hawksley Very colorful illustrated children's book showing what kinds of cakes Jake can bake and who they are for.Not only is this a silly rhyming book but it also allows you to match up what the person/animal would eat for a cake.Love penguin one the best.

    7. Great, awesome, cool, and amazingThe words of a seven year old who is learning how to read. He thought this book was great and awesome and cool and amazing!! He wants to read it again tomorrow after school! Overall, as the parent I liked the book too. It's simple, not too many words on one page so my son didn't get overwhelmed with that. He is happy so I am happy!!

    8. A great picture book bedtime storyCute pictures, nice rhymes. Just the thing for baby's bedtime. The Kindle edition includes wise words to define more difficult words for young readers.

    9. A 34 page simple book with one graphic illustration per page. I would have given it higher stars if Santa Claus wasn't included. This book cannot be in my public classroom with Santa and no other winter holiday ''character' mentioned.

    11. I think Jake could have baked fewer cakes and it would have been more enjoyable. A little long for a picture book that has Jake baking a cake on each page. But, alas, it was free so I can't complain too much.

    12. Visual candyI recommend this book to everyone. Colorful and fun illustrations. Wonderful, silly rhymes that engage the reader and the listener. Encourages use of imagination to create ones own silly cake.

    13. No good for the kindleThe pictures and text are on separate pages for the kindle edition, which makes it less fun and interesting to read with kids. If the formatting was better, I would give it 4-5 stars.
