    1. Its Christmas eve and Mc Duff and his family are waiting for Santa. The snow is deeper than deep, so Mc Duff has tunneled around the house everytime he has heard even the slightest noise outside. But where is Santa? Finally when all seems lost Mc Duffs "human"finally ventures outside when he hears the souinds again only to find Santa caught in a snowdrift. After shoveling him out they all come inside to warm up and Mc Duff gets to meet the man himself before he goes out to complete his appointed [...]

    2. On Christmas Eve, McDuff awakes in the middle of the night because he thinks he's heard Santa's sleigh over the house. After going outside multiple times with Fred, frustration finally sets in and Fred refuses to take him outside to look anymore. The next time, McDuff goes out alone, and what he finds makes the whole family come together in joy. This book, and the McDuff series in general, is very well-written and appropriate for all ages. With realistic, colorful illustrations, these stories con [...]

    3. The illustrations are very nice. The story is okay, it is about a dog named McDuff who is trying to alert his owners to something. His owners always just believe that McDuff has to go to the bathroom---unfortunately there is a blizzard outside their front door. In the end, the owners find out that McDuff has been trying to alert them to the fact that Santa has crashed into their garage. The owner helps Santa and then gives everyone a gift. McDuff gets a black kitten. A 2.4 AR level book.

    4. Hard not to give this one five stars. As biased as I am toward cats, I'm almost as biased toward Westies. My in-laws have one named Scout McDuff, so my mother-in-law, a former children's librarian, has every McDuff book (of course!).It's obvious from reading this book that the author knows Westies really well. McDuff displays all of those charming--and sometimes frustrating!--Westie traits.I think that reading this book will become a Christmas tradition.

    5. We had two Westies growing up and two Westies after I got married, so for Westie lovers like me, this book is adorable and captures the Westie curiosity very well. The illustrations are adorable and the story is simple and sweet. My kids and I love this book, probably more so because of the nostalgia of our pupps, Pebbles and Snowball.

    6. Lucy, Fred, McDuff and the baby are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of Santa on Christmas Eve. McDuff keeps hearing things go bump in the night and waking up Lucy and Fred to let him out. Eventually he leads them to Santa whose sleigh has crashed and needs some help. Dex. (2 y.o.) loves the McDuff series.Very cute illustrations.

    7. The only thing I really liked, was McDuff. He is so cute!!!! The story itself is good in theory, but the execution is poor. Sorry Ms. Wells, but this was another miss for me. Important lesson: Always listen to your dogances are, he's not just barking to bark. =|

    8. All of my boys really enjoyed this, even the older boys. We read it multiple times before returning it to the library. The illustrations are absolutely adorable. The story is simple and sweet. A fun little read for your younger kids.

    9. A cute, but somewhat rambling story about Santa's visit to McDuff and his family. The story is okay and the illustrations are decent; good read for the Christmas season. Our girls loved the dog - he is rather adorable!

    10. Nice art, cute dog, and the picture of a tangled-up Santa always makes my preschooler laugh. However (as other reviewers have mentioned) the text is dry and a bit lifeless. Not Wells' best book.

    11. We really enjoyed this book! My kids really liked the story and it's reminiscent of old time stories, which I like. :)

    12. Adorable book. Funny quips for the grown-ups and lavish illustrations for the little ones. This author created Max and Ruby as well. I want the whole McDuff series! I'd love to own them all.

    13. Ok book, a bit boring for mebut I loved McDuff's new friend, and it wasn't who we thought it was going to be, either!
